Happy Monday! I think we are all finally back from vacation/holiday mode. Last week the kids were back in school by Wednesday, but we still weren’t back to our normal routine! Hoping to get my blogging schedule back on track this week! Hope you all had a lovely weekend! We had a very low key weekend where we looked at houses on Saturday…they were all a bust and spent time with family on Sunday celebrating my Dad’s birthday! Like always it was way too short! Today I thought I would share a new series I will be starting on the blog. Every month I will be doing a round up of what I think you should be buying at Target! They just have so many goodies and once they are gone, they are gone. With Target’s long return policy I always say to pick something up if you love it and bring it home. It can always go back if end up not using it. If you don’t live near a Target then hopefully this will be a good round up for you because their website can be overwhelming with so many different products to go thru! Are you ready to get to Target’s must buys for this month?
This January here is the round up of what I was drooling over and highly recommend!
No. 1 Light Filtering Suzani Curtain Panels: Love these panels. They give me a California Boho vibe, but they are still super chic and if you line them they would look amazing in a more traditional space with an eclectic flare. Pair them with grasscloth, brass and natural wood tones for a chic look. They are available in 84″, 95″ and 108″ lengths, which is a dream! My number one pet peeve as a designer is curtain panels that are too short!
No. 2 Curtain Panel Tie Up: The labor on roman shades is on the pricey side and they are not a lot of pretty affordable ready made options. I really enjoy this shade because it gives the look of a roman shade, but is super affordable because it’s fixed and won’t move up or down. It’s light filtering so, you shouldn’t even need to open and shut it because it will still let light in. Great price point and a nice solution if you are on a budget.
No. 3 Decorative Box with Lid: The new Opalhouse line is full of bugs and little critters and I’m here for it! Maybe it’s the boy mom in me, but they look super sweet and chic. Boxes like this are great to put on a desk, vanity, stacked on top of books on a coffee table or bookcase. Great little item for styling.
No. 4 Decorative Pop Up Belly Basket: I love using baskets like this to store toys. When the boys were little I had them in a variety of sizes in the living room and our bedroom. It was a nice way to have toys for them near by and have the storage still go with the look of the space and not like a playroom.
No. 5 Fringe Basket Tote: I still love magazines and they are all over my house. I love picking up baskets for storage. Again it helps hide them when I’m not actually using them and they are easy to find.
No. 6 Gold planter: Pretty little home for a little plant or use it for pens or make up brushes/lipsticks. Would be the cutest home for colored pencils for your little ones.
No. 7 Serendipity Rug Doesn’t this rug just make you smile? It makes me smile. Love the colors and the look. The 7 x 10 size is only $139.99!
No. 8 Chunky Woven Pillow: Pantone’s color of the year, Living Color was popping up everywhere. Like the little touch of it in this pillow. The perfect addition for your sofa!
No. 9 Multi-Tassel Pillow: Already regretting that I let this behind. I need to go back for it. It was super soft and loved the colors on the blanket! When you opened it up they even had a pop of yellow and aqua.
No. 10 Round Rattan Cane Tray: Caning is one of those patterns that will always be timeless. It constantly pops up in design throughout the year. A perfect catch all tray for your bar or console table.
No. 11 Cambridge Turned Leg White Desk: Loved the lines of this desk and the pretty gold hardware. It would be really nice in an office, but you could also use it as a vanity. You could even use it as a console table if you have enough width for it.
No. 12 Bug Print X base Ottoman: I would love a pair of these for the boys to use in their next room. Imagine at the end of a twin bed. So cute! Also would be adorable for a country home. Am I the only one that is constantly looking up weekend homes and decorating them in my head! Just me?
So many amazing must buys, right!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
How do you make the picture board of all the items? What is a beginner way to do that? Thanks
