Ok, so I got a bunch of comments and emails that people missed the weekend recaps so, here we go! This weekend was pretty quiet, because poor Hudson got hit with the stomach bug that seems to be going around everywhere! It started mid-week and has lasted way more than 24 hours and as I type this Sunday night I’m hoping he is finally done with it! We had our tax appointment already scheduled so, Jon and I needed to divide and conquer. The majority of my day was spent at home with my little patient while Jon took Asher to the accountant. Luckily the accountant always has a massive jar of jelly beans in his office and I knew Ash would love it.
While I was home with Hudson we pretty much just relaxed in bed. He didn’t want to do much of anything. I was able to snap some photos to share what the boys got me for Valentine’s day.
First up were these adorable lego earrings! Asher and Hudson love lego’s so, it was a super thoughtful gift from Jon. I have loved wearing them and have the boys get excited when they spy them on me!
The lego theme continued with these lego hearts that they made as well. Jon ordered 2 x 2 red lego blocks and then let the boys build their own hearts. Asher made one big heart and Hudson made two hearts connected and then wrote on them with a Sharpie. It said Hudson + Mommy! I mean, how sweet. They needed to be displayed.
Did you know that you could over a variety of lego block sizes and colors on Amazon. You can 1 block, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 in so many pretty colors! All actual Lego brand. I found lavender ones that I’m itching to order.
In the never ending rounds of laundry I had to do I started bringing out some bedding and accessories I had totally forgotten that I got for the boys. My cute days of bedding ended once they found licensed bedding like Minecraft everything. I swore I would never do it, but how can you say no to those little faces. So, when I found some of the old bedding I needed to bring it out!
Still loving that sweet beetle pillow!
On Sunday we decided to all venture out to get some fresh air and by that I mean we dragged the boys to Home Depot to do some errands. First stop was the paint department! I’m working on designing my sister and brother-in-laws nursery for my new nephew! Can’t wait for his arrival! We picked out a bunch of colors and the boys got to pick some favorites too!
I also saw these colorful flagging tapes and thought they would be perfect to make a DIY pinata fringe photo backdrop! They are the perfect width and then you can just cut them at different lengths.
I also found this chic black subway tile on sale for 99 cents! My youngest sister just bought an apartment! She closes this week and I get to check it out later on this week! We are going to be doing a full kitchen and bathroom reno on it! We have been looking at kitchen inspiration and are luckily both leaning towards a classic white kitchen with glam accents. I think black subway tile would be pretty glam and that price is so good!
We ended our little outing at Avo Taco again! Guys, we went there last Saturday for the first time and then ordered it in on Valentine’s day and then needed to have it again on Sunday. It is so so so good! Literally want to take everyone there so that they can try it out for themselves.
Best part! You even get your free ice cream dessert for take out orders!
The rest of the day was spent working on projects for the Choose your own adventure blog challenge I’m a part of!
Opened up all of my Minted art pieces! Everything was packaged so beautifully and all of the pieces are amazing in person! Can’t wait to hang them!
We also got started on installing our Milton & King wallpaper! It came all the way from Australia and I couldn’t be more excited for how it is looking!
Jon and I are both exhausted. Lots of cleaning and working this weekend!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
