This year I really wanted to focus on getting out to meet more fellow creatives and people that love interiors and entertaining like myself! Working for yourself is great, but it can be lonely and I wanted to gain back the sense of community that blogging originally gave to me. I decided to test out of the waters and partner up with another small business owner for my first workshop!
Tara is the co-owner of the AR Workshop in Port Washington. AR Workshop is a store front that has a retail component full of cute finds for your home along with fashion accessories plus a workshop component where you can sign up and take a variety of DIY workshops! They have a large assortments of projects like chunky knit blankets, wooden trays, wooden plaques, canvas pillows and totes and much more! You get to go in and do it all yourself! For the signs they make custom stencils for you with your last name, etc and for the wooden items the have all of the power tools for you to put it all together yourself! I was in heaven when I walked in. The location in Port Washington is in an old factory and there is exposed brick everywhere, which works so nicely with the overall vibe of the store.
The big wall of events! At AR Workshops you need to sign up for workshops in advance. The wall has every day lined up with all of the different workshops that you can pick from and it lets you know if any days are closed for an event.
Every station has all of the supplies you could ever need!
Paint, paint and more paint!
A cozy nook showcase some of their many projects!
Isn’t it super pretty! I met up with Tara last week and she loved the idea of partnering up for a workshop! We started brainstorming and came up with a bunch of different ideas and decided to start with a workshop for tablescape styling! She mentioned that many people come in to do a project, but then never know what to do with the item at home. So, during the workshop I will be sharing my tips and tricks for how I style a tablescape especially for spring and then you will be able to test out the skills you learn with props I bring in and any of the goodies in the shop. We will have some yummy snacks for all and it’s a BYOB so, it’s a fun girl’s night out! Grab your mom, your sister, your friends and come hang out with me!!!!
The event will run on April 17th, which means you will have time to use your skills on your Passover or Easter table setting. Plus Mother’s day and Communion season is right around the corner! Plenty of events for you to practice at home and perfect your tablescape. The event will run from 7-9 and costs $65. Everyone gets to leave with a little goodie bag and I’ll be raffling off some goodies as well!
I would love to see you there! Sign up for the event here!!!!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
