I love throwing a good party. From the invitations to the party favors I like to pay attention to all of the details that have people ohhing and ahhing from beginning to end. When my sister told us she was pregnant the wheels immediately started turning for her baby shower theme. It was pretty easy to pick one out, because around our household we have all been pretty obsessed with The Greatest Showman! Now, I have seen other The Greatest Showman themed parties out there, but it they were pretty heavy on the traditional red used on a circus tent and some darker tones that I wasn’t a fan of. I decided to go bright and colorful for my The Greatest Showman meets Circus baby shower!
I worked with my graphic designer to get the perfect invitation. I was able to find these adorable circus animal clip art that we could use and she nailed it with the colors, fonts, and layout!
The invites were a crowd favorite and got the guests excited for the theme!
I couldn’t attach anything to walls in the venue, which meant I had to get creative when it came to decor. I knew I wanted the dessert table to be a statement, but I didn’t want to do a candy bar. I decided on using a cardboard room divider and dressing it up with streamers! It only took about 30 mins to do and it gave me the punch of colors that I wanted on the walls.
I swapped out their white tablecloth for a pink tablecloth that I had in my linen closet. I like buying really cloth tablecloths and napkins when I host events. Often times they are actually cheaper and I can re-use them for other events. The marquee letters gave me a nice circus nod and really bought the table together. It was a last minute addition that I’m so happy I ordered.
I really wanted to paint little animals and get them dressed up for the table, but I was having a hard time finding something affordable in a big size. I had almost given up until a massive search on amazon led me to these! A set of 4 jumbo animals for only $20! They came out adorable, but I’m not going to lie they do a nice chunk of time to make.
Cracker Jacks are one of the oldest sold treats at the circus! So, they were the perfect treat to use as party favors!
I used water balloons to make a mini balloon garland to decorate the dessert table.
Speaking of desserts! Who cute are these cupcakes! We decided to DIY them and they were a hit! Funfetti cake mix and vanilla and chocolate frosting with rings of fire made out of pipe cleaners and cute little animals to jump thru them!
I’m not sure what Real Housewives franchise would hold a cupcake in their opening scene, but I’m here for it!
When I had figured out the theme I started searching for items in thrift stores and hit the jackpot when I found this ceramic popcorn bowl, which was perfect for a centerpiece! I added some yellow and white flowers for popcorn and it worked out perfectly.
We had 6 tables set up for gifts and I mixed up the centerpieces with two different yet similar looks. The key ingredients were wooden animals, admit one tickets, and colorful popcorn cups for flowers! I wanted the wooden animals to look like frosted cookies so, I added little mini pom poms to it to give that look.
The second look had little wagons which housed animals and flowers! A happy accident where my confetti filled balloons kept popping when I blew them up, which led me to open them all up and sprinkling them on the table.
For the flowers I decided to save myself a trip to the store and ordered them online thru Bloomys Box. They have a new collection on their site that is an array of roses curated by Martha Stewart! If it’s good enough for Martha than it’s good enough for me. I picked a rainbow color selection of roses and they arrived beautifully and lasted for weeks!!!!
Straight out of the boxes:
Ah so pretty on the tables:
On the tables I also swapped out the white napkins with colorful napkins, which I found for $1.50 for a set of 5! Totally worth it!
I mentioned it was Greatest Showman theme, right? My sister bought us beards to surprise our sister with when she walked in.
Haha. She loved it!

A look at the small amount of games we did do:
The fortune teller fish were a big hit! For the prizes we filled pretty decorative gift boxes from Home Goods with soap, bath bombs, shower pouf, face mask aka gifts from them to use in their shower.
I also dressed up a cabinet with balloons, admit one tickets, and quotes from The Greatest Showman.
I decided to go big with the circus theme and hired a balloon artist and cotton candy machine! Two clowns arrived all decked out to get everyone in the circus mood! People loved it!!!
When Hudson found out my sister was having a baby he came up with a name right away… Doug Donut Sprinkles. We have no idea where it came with, but he was totally into it and it has stuck. We knew when planning the shower that we needed to have some sprinkled donuts in his honor!
Fun was had by all! I’m so happy for my sister and brother in law and can’t wait for my little nephew to arrive!!!! He is already so very loved!!!
A big thank you to my bestie Liz from Elizabeth Kristin Photography from all of the amazing photos!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
