May is a very busy time in this family. We have my birthday, then Asher’s and then Mother’s day all in a row! It’s all good things, but so close together that when it comes to my birthday and Mother’s day I just want the gift of doing nothing with zero plans! Asher has other plans, he has mentioned going to the Bahamas, Chuck e Cheese and eating ice cream for all his meals. I’m with him on the ice cream front and was able to change Chuck e Cheese to going to see the new Pokemon movie. Now back to the task at hand…Mother’s Day gifts! I like to get my gifts on the early side and luckily this year I’m all good, but I know it can be a last minute gift so, I rounded up some of favorite gifts that are all available on amazon prime!
No. 1 I have gifted this weighted blanket and the gift recipient loved it. I have gotten to test it out as well and I love it as well. It’s just nice for laying on the couch and getting cozy. This one is currently only $50, which is the lowest I have seen it.
No. 2 Flowers are always a good go to gift for birthdays and celebrations like Mother’s day! I like to arrange my own flowers, which is why I like Bloomsybox. You can purchase a subscription for your mom and they will get monthly flowers that you can arrange in your own vase like this adorable lady face vase. My mom currently has a dozen of their roses in her living room and they have been going strong for almost two weeks!
No. 3 I get a lot of headaches and this ice roller is a dream for helping alleviate them and getting rid of puffiness. Consider it a mini day at the spa for mom.
No. 4 I think this rattan bag deserves a vacation on Nantucket. If that’s not in the cards at least you will look super chic this summer!
No. 5 The rainbow trend is all over the jewelry world and I’m loving these beaded earrings. They will dress up any outfit and while they look pricey they are less than $15!
No. 6 If your mom loves design then Erin Gate’s latest design book would be perfect for her. It’s full of design inspiration with families in mind and the cover and spine are so pretty that it would look great on a coffee table or bookcase.
No. 7 A chic netted handbag that would be perfect for any summer occasions your mom may have coming up.
No. 8 I always get some sort of foot rub coupon from the boys. How cute would a coupon be with these furry slippers!
No. 9 I love the idea of getting a head start on drying my hair by using a hair turban while I do my make up and get dressed. Plus a chic palm leaf pattern never hurt anyone!
No. 10 A face serum and this rose quartz roller and gua sha scraping tool is such a thoughtful gift. I like to put my nightly face serum on and then do lymphatic draining on my face with the roller! The gua sha scraping tool is amazing for when I have headaches. It’s comes in a nice gift box and the quality is really nice. I have bought other rollers where the stone pops out all of the time and this has never happened with this one.
No. 11 Lash extensions and growing serums are all the rage, but the secret product that makes my lashes look super long and has strangers asking me if they are fake is this mascara!!! It’s pretty nice to be able to tell people, “No, they are real”!
No. 12 Tassels are always a go to gift for me. I love these tassel charms. They are perfect to click on to handbags or even use a string to clip it on to a lamp or door knob.
No. 13 I love the idea of a Mother’s day gift being an experience and not just a gift. Why not gift mom this extra large beach or picnic blanket and go on a lunch date with her!
No. 14 I know there is a Revlon brush similar to this one, but it’s too big for my hair. I like the size of this John Frieda version and I recommend it to everyone I know. I haven’t used a straighten iron in years. I just let my hair get around 70% dry and then use the brush to dry the rest. It’s also great to use when I have put dry shampoo on my hair. I let the dry shampoo set and then do a couple of passes with the brush to make sure all of the powder has been absorbed.
No. 15 Every lady deserves to have a pair of sunglasses that make her feel like Jackie O! I have had these for a couple of weeks now and they are my favorite! So chic and make me feel like a movie star even when I have zero make up on!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
