I’m back to sharing some peeks from our weekend! This weekend we had zero plans which was nice, but I’m not going to lie, I did get a little bored on Sunday. Jon has been working away on the new house so, while he works on that I entertain the boys. By the end of the weekend, we were both exhausted!
I actually took these photos on Friday, but let’s consider it part of the weekend! I stopped by to see my friend, Melissa’s house! We like to work together on her house from time to time aka we always have some sort of project going on. The latest project was new wallpaper in the house. How amazing is her foyer!!!!
Next up is her kitchen where we added blush faux grasscloth wallpaper! It is a jawdropping beauty. We want to have a sleepover and sleep in the kitchen just to get to enjoy it even more. Don’t you love seeing the peek of the new blue wallpaper in the background!
She also has the cutest seating nook for coffee and newspaper reading in the morning. It’s so nice to see so much of the paper in this area.
Doesn’t it look so pretty with the roman shades! The flower vases have some pale pink flowers and it picks up the wallpaper so nicely.
Saturday was a blur of Jon working at the house, me at home with the boys and when they had a bit of video game time I was able to get some design work as well. At the end of the day I finally took some time to paint my nails. I haven’t gotten a manicure in months and the state of my nails was driving me crazy. I love Sally Hansen Miracle Gel for at home manicures. The polish lasts a really long time!
We have also gotten into watching Catastrophe at night and we love it! It’s about a one night stand with an Irish woman and an American. It takes place in London and so much happens!
On Sunday I was able to sneak out with a bit without the boys and when one of my errands took me dangerously close to one of my favorite thrift stores I had to pop in! Here is what caught my eye!
I thought these bowls would be good to use for floral arrangements. They were bigger than a cereal bowl and you could easily add floral foam to the inside and make an arrangement.
I thought this straw planter gave me Anthro vibes. You could use it as a planter, but you can also use it for storage. I would probably fill it with my boys’ hot wheel cars.
Totally regretting leaving behind this pedestal bowl. It was a great size and would look great on a kitchen island or dining room table filled with fruit or I could use it as a vase for a floral arrangement.
Love these cute cookie trays with the handles. I think they would look so pretty in a bedroom for jewelry!
Wouldn’t this mirror look so pretty in a pop of color! It would look so great at a stair landing.
The rest of the day was spent with the boys outside so that they could run off a bit of their energy! We had a really warm day! It was 60 degrees out! Then once the sun went down we went in to bake! Our latest TV show obsession with the boys is Kids Baking Challenge. The boys are really loving seeing what the kids make and learning all about it. Hudson keeps talking about how he wants to bake things so, I thought they would want to bake. Guess who baked lemon bars and crumb cake by themselves? That’s right! Me! He told me he just likes watching it and doesn’t want to bake.
I have been on the hunt for the perfect crumb cake. Last week I tested out a recipe and no one really like it. It just sat there after I made it and eventually I just had to throw it out. I tried another recipe that my friend sent me and this one was super yummy! Two thumbs up from everyone! It’s a family recipe so, I need to ask her first if I can share it with all!
After all of that baking, I didn’t even eat dinner! Our night finished off with more episodes of Catastrophe and a little crocheting!
Here is to a great start to the week!!!!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
What are you crocheting??
I’m making a scarf! My edges aren’t great, but I’m hoping to hide it a bit with tassels!
Omg! Love the wallpaper, where is it from??
The grasscloth wallpaper is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Would you share that information? I’d greatly appreciate it! Vanessa
