I’m going to have to start my weekend recap on Friday this week, because I went out to lunch with my friend Kristen at the most adorable place called The Breakfast Club. It’s only open till 3pm and is full of yummy breakfast options and also has some great lunch options. It’s bright and happy and has the best 80’s music playing. It was my happy place.
Isn’t it cute! Yellow and white everywhere!
Highly recommend if you are a NYC/LI reader.
Saturday I had an early client meeting to go over some custom millwork for them. We are working on some built’ins for their mudrooms and custom bathroom vanities! If your budget allows then getting custom pieces of furniture are amazing. They can literally do anything! We just need to dream it up! I’m currently looking up all sorts of inspiration for the bathroom vanities! What must-haves do you have in your bathroom vanity?
While I was at their house I got to see the newest addition to one of their sweet girls rooms! How awesome is this! They picked it up in Miami, but I found something similiar on etsy.
After my weekend I went home to get a bit more work done while the boys played! Jon has been working super hard on the weekends at the house. So, while he is there I’m on parenting duty. The boys are at ages now where they can play really nicely together and don’t really need me. So, I get to stay near by to hear what’s going on and work a bit while they play. There is still a good share of fighting, but they are a lot more independent.
Then we headed out to a birthday party! It was a rainy day and the bouncing place was insane! I have never seen it so busy! It was chaos, but the boys loved it! Ah! How sweet are these boys! I really love the friendships the boys are making and I can already imagine them in my head as teens.
After the party, I finished reading The Unhoneymooners. It’s a bit predictable, but over all it’s a cute and fun read. I’m now starting on Don’t You Forget About Me, which I have enjoyed from the get go!
On Sunday we had a family breakfast before Jon headed out to the house and we went to catch the first showing of Dolittle! Around here it’s only $7.80 and we get the nice recliner seats! We were all excited to see it and it didn’t disappoint! I really can’t say enough about it. It was heart warming and funny and the animals were so cute!
I ate a very on brand bagel for lunch! Haha. My parents always get them for the boys and I had to snag one.
We spent the rest of the days indoors. The boys played, I read and we just hung out. I did run out at one point with my mom to Ulta for some make up and tried out the new Tarte Shape Tape Glow Wand and Flesh’s Thickstick Foundation, which I used as undereye concealer. I like the combo! I didn’t commit to anything, because the line was super long, but I will go back and test it out again.
Happy Monday!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
