Please know that I don’t take this lightly when I say I have a recipe for one of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had! When I was young I loved watching 7th Heaven. I know every single word to their theme song, 7th heaven. One of the things that imprinted on me the most is that Mrs. Camden always had freshly baked cookies for her kids when they got home for school. What a picture-perfect afternoon snack. I always wanted to come home to the same thing, but I never mentioned it to anyone until now. My mom isn’t a baker, but she always says, I would have tried to bake them for you if I knew! I hadn’t really thought out them until I had kids and decided that I wanted to do the same thing for them! Now, I’m no Mrs. Camden because I don’t make them every day or even every week, but every couple of weeks I will bake cookies for their afterschool snack. I’m constantly on the lookout for the best chocolate chip cookie, but I hadn’t really found anything that wowed me. Then over the weekend, I was playing around with the ingredients I had and I came up with a winning combo! Everyone is in love with them! Asher is constantly asking for them and Jon my toughest and most honest critic when it comes to cookies loves them!
Here is what you will need for the best chocolate chip cookies:
Steps:
-Preheat oven to 350
-Use a stand mixer with a paddle attachment and beat together the soft butter, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, vanilla extract and lemon juice.
-Add egg into mixture.
-In a separate bowl get your dry ingredients (flour, salt, and baking soda) together.
-Slowly add dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Once it’s all mixed together add semi-sweet chocolate chunks.
-I had colored sprinkles and thought why not! So add them if you like, but it’s not necessary.
-Place dough (2 tablespoons) on cookie sheet. Recipe makes around 3 and half a dozen cookies
-Bake for 10 mins. At 8 min mark take the cookies out and slam the cookie sheet on the oven to do a pan bang! It gives the cookies a bit of wrinkled texture and then place them back in for an extra 2 mins. Cookies are ready when they have a slight brown color around them. These cookies are on the pale side so, they won’t look super dark when you take them out.
-Let them sit on the cookie sheet for 10 mins before removing and eating.
Really yummy and really pretty! They are my new go-to chocolate chip cookie receipe!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
