I like to swap out my bedding seasonally. It’s a nice way to give your room a whole new look and it only takes a few tweaks! Since today is National Sleep Day I thought it would be the perfect day to share my Spring bedroom updates and give you a little peek into my nightly routine. I didn’t realize how much my room needed it until I had photographed it all. I feel lighter! I had piles of stuff all over my room that I hadn’t gotten around to putting away. Swapping my bedding gave me the push I needed to do a little Spring cleaning and I’m committed to keeping everything in order. Hopefully, you will leave feeling inspired to tackle your own space! I even asked some of my favorite blogger pals to share their Spring bedrooms as well!
My lovely friends at Crane & Canopy was sweet enough to gift us all some of their beautiful bedding and a pair of their new pajama sets! Their Ellis coral duvet set became the inspiration for my new look. I love the mint jade painted stripes on the wall and it pairs so nicely with coral. The bedding is bright and crisp! I loved the small pattern on the bedding because it almost made it look like a solid, but due to all of the white space, it wasn’t as intense.
I have been using their bedding for years and it’s the only brand I buy now. It’s really soft and wears really nicely wash after wash. The best part is the attention to details. The inside of the duvet cover has little ties for the corners and if you use their duvet insert it has corner loops for the duvet cover ties.
Close up of the pattern:
Piping throughout the border of the duvet cover gives it an upscale look:
Another great detail is the invisible zipper finish on the shams. No more trying to shove your pillow into an envelope opening.
Along with new bedding I dressed up my bed with some new pillows! I knew what I wanted, but didn’t want to go on a crazy Homegoods hunt so, I searched Amazon and found the cutest pillows. They are a knit material in mint and coral with coral tassels! It felt like it was custom for this room!
Typically we have a cream velvet headboard, but I was feeling over it. I went thru my fabric stash and found two yards of this fruit and floral fabric. I picked it up awhile ago and had no plans for it, but it was on sale for $10 a yard so, I picked up 2 yards and figured I could find a use for it down the line.
Want to know a little secret? I had all intentions to reupholster the headboard, but I was playing around with fabric placement and wrapped it around the headboard with a pin on each corner and it stayed that way! It’s stayed in place so, I decided why not! Now, when I’m bored of it I can easily remove the corner pins and get my cream velvet back.
Now, I just needed one last tweak…artwork! I really like having the photo ledge above the bed because it enables me to switch artwork easily. This is last Spring’s bedroom and this past holiday season bedroom. I did a little digging on etsy and found the best piece of artwork for $13.30!!!! Printable artwork is one of my favorite things to search for on etsy. I love the watercolor and abstract ones and after a little bit of searching for the colors I wanted I found the winner! I was able to print it out at 24″ x 36″ at my local UPS store for $20 and then found a frame at Michaels.
Now that we have gone over all of the new design details let’s talk sleep! Do you have a hard time falling asleep? I didn’t use too, but lately, I’m up at midnight just tossing and turning. I started doing a couple of things and they have helped get me to sleep earlier.
If I have been at the computer all day I tend to get headaches at night. I love putting on my night serums and them massaging them in with my jade roller and gua shu massager. It feels so nice on my face especially under my eyes by my sinuses.
Next up is turning off the TV early and reading instead. I love to read but when it’s close to bedroom it makes me super sleepy! My latest book is Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid. I have also been using a silk eye mask, because lately I have been sleeping with the window open for fresh air and some light gets in which leads to more tossing and turning.
I’m so happy with the new look! It’s helping me feel completely reinvigorated with our bedroom. We are still undergoing renovations in our new house and are in the expensive phase of needing a new central ac unit and not at the design stage yet, so it’s fun to play around in my parents’ house.
Like my cozy pj’s? Head over to Instagram for a fun giveaway later today! If we are going to be quarantined we might as look chic and comfy!
Now head over to check out all of the other lovely ladies sharing their bedrooms today!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Love your new bedding and bed situation!!! Loving your headboard fabric too. And you look so cute in your comfy grey pjs!! Thanks Camila for pulling all this together!!
Camila so fun & lovely!
Where are those tassels from?!?
💖
Ah! It’s from a tassel set from Walmart. It had pom poms too, but the boys broke it so I took the tassels and added them to a loop of yarn and tied around lamp.
