I don’t know about you, but I haven’t printed out photos for the longest time! They all live on my phone. While I love the ability to just scroll through them whenever I like I do miss holding them. The boys in particular love getting photos printed out. They put them up on their bulletin boards and even take them to bed with them. They love looking at memories especially when they are the main attraction! Yesterday I realized that Shutterfly is currently running a promo for free 4″x6″ prints and 4″ x 4″ prints via their app! I love little square 4″ x 4″ prints because they work perfectly with square photos aka anything you have put up on Instagram. They also look chicer than a plain old 4″ x 6″. I have been adding photos to my account on the app since last night. It’s super easy with the app since all of the photos already live on your phone. I have over 19,000 photos on my phone so, it’s taken me a little time to go through and pick out the photos, but it’s been fun seeing old photos that I had forgotten about. Now if you don’t use the app then the photos are .19 cents for the 4″ x 6″ and 23 for the 4″ x 4″ which isn’t crazy but if you can get it for free and just have to pay for shipping why not!
If you plan on using your prints to make a gallery wall then I beg you to go big with the frame. My number one pet peeve with gallery walls is when people put up frames that are too small. An 8″ x 10″ should be the smallest size you use and I would use it sparingly. Always go larger. I do move a mix of sizes in a gallery wall, but when the majority of the frames are 4″ x 6″, 5″ x 7″ and 8″ x 10″ it just falls flat. If you want a more grid light gallery wall then bigger is better as well. I love the idea of a grid of family photos in a 4″ x 4″ or 4″ x 6″ with a larger mat area. It’s a very upscale look that doesn’t have to break the bank. These frames are only $35 for a set of 4 for an 11″ x 11″ frame with a 4″ x 4″ mat. Perfection! For 4″ x 6″ photos I love these gold frames.
Don’t want to frame them? I would put a bunch of them in a glass canister, wooden bowl or a chic glass and gold box.
Already thinking about the holidays? Pick up some 4″ x 4″ prints and make these DIY photo coasters! All you need is some white subway tiles and cork sheets!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
