-If you follow me on Instagram then you know I have fallen in love! With who you may ask and the answer is the Durrell’s. I was having one of those there is nothing on TV moments when I stumbled upon The Durrell’s in Corfu, which is a PBS tv series based on a real-life story of a widow who in the 1930’s decided to leave English with her 4 children and transplant them to Corfu Greece. I’m on the last season and I’m slowly watching it because I don’t want it to end. The show is like a warm hug. I have laughed and cried. It’s based on a memoir that the youngest son wrote and it’s simply precious. You want so much for the Durrell’s and their quirky yet stunning house reminds me of the villa in Under the Tuscan Sun. I literally won’t stop talking about it and want everyone to watch it so that I can talk with them about it.
-I also ordered this dress in the striped pattern and then quickly ordered two more in some of the colors! It is currently 20% off until the 26th and I urge you to pick one up. It’s like wearing pajamas and having it be socially acceptable to leave the house in said pajamas aka this dress. The dress has the cutest puffy sleeves and I have worn it many times now since it arrived. I also picked up this dress that is totally chic and screams fall. It is also 20% off until the 26th.
-This is the chicest ready to purchase upholstered storage ottoman that I have ever seen. I love the lines of it! It’s an amazing length at 50″ and the price is unreal! Correct me if I’m wrong, but it looks exactly like this piece that is retailing for $319!!!! I wish I needed one because I would pick it up in a heartbeat! Honestly, I might pick it up just because it’s such an amazing price. I mean hello upholstered legs! Looks totally custom and super high end!
-Drew Barrymoore’s Flower Home Line had a new release of fall items and I found so many favorites like this lamp, hexagon bookcase and the cutest napkins that are perfect for Thanksgiving!
-Have you heard about Falcon Enamelware? They make the prettiest dinnerware in enamel. Gives me total camping vibes and makes me miss camping! I never actually thought I would enjoy camping, but we went a couple of years ago to Lake George and rented an island to camp on and it was heaven! Can you tell I’m in the mood for a getaway? I have spent the week searching for a house rental to check out some foilage this fall.
Happy Friday!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
