Ah! Summer is only a couple of weeks away! I know we are all counting the days like a little kid in school. I’m ready to spend lots of time outdoors and enjoy my fully vaxxed summer by getting to actually see people! Don’t worry I’m not going all wild on you, but being able to see fellow fully vaxxed people this summer sounds like a dream. I kept my pod super small and miss seeing my friends! I’m certain everyone’s outside entertaining space can use a little love to get you ready for hosting! Here are some of my summer entertaining finds that I’m loving!
No. 1 We aren’t in true summer yet here in NY, but the heat has been intense. An umbrella is totally a necessity. I love this outdoor umbrella because of it’s pretty color, amazing price at $105, and the detailing on the trim. Love! If you aren’t a fan of orange, first how dare you, and second, don’t worry it comes in other colors including black and white.
No. 2One always needs a place to perch one’s book and drink. I’m loving this sweet rattan stool! Use it as extra seating, a place for your feet or for your drinks and books. So many uses!
No. 3 I don’t spend a ton of money on outdoor pillows, but I don’t love picking them up at big box retailers. Why? Because typically they aren’t done with a zipper. Having them sewn up makes it hard to store them after the outdoor season is done. I love this etsy shop for outdoor pillows. The prices are awesome and so many fun colors and patterns to pick from!
No. 4 Tray! I’m a big fan of them! I use them on console tables, coffee tables, vanities, nightstands. You get the idea! I haven’t purchased a new one in a long time, but I just found my next purchase! Hello, scalloped border tray in this dreamy blue. The perfect place to serve your guests treats from! For outdoor entertaining, I always use melamine plates. Spoiler alert I actually use them on a daily basis at home for dinner time. Every season Target comes out with cute seasonal plates and I can’t help myself. Loving their new plates with clementines.
No. 5 A french bistro chair will never go out of style. It’s a classic and this is the best price I have ever found on them! A set of 2 for $112!!!!!!!!!! I mean, that’s insanely good. They can be used indoors or outdoors.
No. 6 It’s hard to find a nice-looking outdoor rug. So many of them are super flat and feel like plastic. I love that this outdoor rug has texture on it with an elevated pattern. It’s stunning and doesn’t look at all like a typical outdoor rug.
No. 7 So, this dining table isn’t exactly for outdoor use, but I’m envisioning using this is a covered sunroom where it can be protected from the elements. You can use it for meals, to pile up all of your favorite design books, or playing a game. If I had space for it I would have bought it by now. I love it! I little dose of modern for my traditional loving heart.
No. 8 One must look fabulous when hosting an event and I think this caftan fits the bill perfectly. It’s giving me 70’s vibes. I just finished The Serpent on Nexflix and loved all of the fashion so I’m in a 70s headspace!
What is your must have for outdoor entertaining? Do you have a signature dish, drink, etc? My sister brought over this pizza oven over the weekend it was so fun! They used it to make pizzas for Sebastian’s 2nd birthday party! We made a bunch of different varieties and everyone loved it! I think it will be coming out quite frequently this summer!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
