This week my TV game has been very strong this week. Perhaps it’s the rainy weather or my inability to fall asleep before 1 am. No one knows for sure. So, for this week Friday finds it’s going to be filled with some TV recommendations and some Instagram finds that I stumbled upon while scrolling when I should have been trying to sleep!
First up, Cooking with Paris on Netflix. I had actually forgotten this show existed but one day while scrolling and trying to find something new on Netflix I found it and remembered that my sister had mentioned it. I gave it I try and I loved it! Paris and I are the same age and while I wasn’t the biggest fan in the early 2000’s she has grown on me. She is quite the businesswoman and it was fun to see her all grown up, but still with her classic Paris humor. The recipes and guests are fun and overall it was the perfect treat to distract me from the world.
To keep the ball rolling with TV, my second find this week is, Truth be Told on Apple TV. It’s a show starring Octavia Spencer who is a journalist turned podcaster who is diving into a case she wrote about 19 years ago. She is now uncertain that the right man is in jail and it weighs heavy on her because her reporting helped get him a guilty verdict. There are so many twists and turns! I was all for it! I finished season 1 in two nights and season 2 just started! Highly recommend!
Now, don’t worry I’m not just watching TV. I have also been reading and this week I have been going back and forth between Summerland by Elin Hilderbrand which makes me dream of being a divorcee with loads of family money that owns an interior design shop on Nantucket and my High School has just moved back into town and is vying for my attention. When I’m not reading that I’m reading and highlighting Obsessed Building A Brand People Love From Day One by Emily Heyward Emily is a cofounder of Red Antler, a branding agency that works with mainly start-ups think Casper, Allbirds, Away luggage. She helps you understand that a brand just isn’t about a logo and a font combination.
Ok, so now that our minds are taken care of here is what caught my eye and made me want to treat myself!
Hello, adorable wicker ice cream cone! It’s pink and has perfect storage for a playroom or kids’ room. I don’t have a need for it right now, but maybe it’s just the thing you need to treat yourself to at the moment.
Chic and cheap resin gem rings! The perfect addition for your fingers!
This brush was a random purchase when I was out shopping one day because my Wet brush was looking a bit sad. I found a Tangle Teezer instead and it’s amazing!!!!!!! It’s the finisher one so it’s perfect for brushing out my curls or getting dry shampoo really into my hair and making that white residue go away. It’s also awesome for tangles just like a wet brush. I’m a total convert and can’t stop talking about it.
So, that’s all she wrote! Happy Friday!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
