As you know we have been living with my parents during our house search and now house renovation! During that time along with my bringing my kids and husband back to my family home, I bought my elderly dog who was at that time starting to have accidents and not wearing diapers yet. Fun times! The whole first level of my parents’ house is Italian tile. It was here when my parents bought the house and they never changed it. Anyway, Bear was constantly having accidents and I was stressing out over keeping things clean. It wasn’t the poor guys’ fault so no one was mad, but it was a frustrating daily occurrence. So, I did a little digging and found the Bissell! and it was love at first sight. We would use it on a daily basis to clean everything up and it worked like a dream. You don’t need any add-on cleaners or chemicals because the steam removes 99.9% of germs! As someone who gets headaches from strong smells like cleaners especially anything with a fake lavender scent, this Bissell! was a game-changer. Sadly, Bear passed away a couple of months ago and I hadn’t taken my mop out for a spin in quite some time. However, we are now in the final stages of our renovation and I’m at the part where I can start cleaning up the mess that renovation has taken on the house. Our beautiful wood floors had taken a beating! Dust and paint drops all over! Originally I started using a chemical to remove the paint marks, but then I remembered the Bissell! and I bought it over! It has been a game-changer! It has this little scrubber on the back so with the use of the steam and a little scrubbing all of the paint came right off with just water!
Want to see what I was dealing with? Messy contractors have left little bits of paint throughout the house and dirt everywhere is just the norm during a renovation.
Then after a couple of passes with the Bissell Powerfresh Steam Mop and it was cleaned up in minutes!
I’m truly in love with it all over again and it’s become my go-to floor cleaner! Bye bye swiffer and hello Bissell!
I went around the house and used it on the real hardwood floors, the laminate flooring in the basement, and on the marble and cement tiles in the bathroom and it worked perfectly in all of the spaces! It would be an awesome Christmas gift! Honestly, I would treat myself to one and then gift one as well!
It’s also currently on sale for less than $100!!!!! Last week it was $120! Hurry!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
