For the past year, the scallop trend in home decor has been on the rise. Like any trend, you are probably nervous to make a purchase in case it goes out as quickly as it came on, but I’m here to tell you that scalloped home decor finds are here to stay. Scallops are a shell-like shape that is equal parts classy and playful. It’s a perfect way to add a sense of whimsy to the space and works in a plethora of design styles. It is a classic shape that comes back time and time again. Here is a round-up of my favorite scalloped home decor finds.
Mix & Match Embroidered Napkins: Are these not the sweetest napkins? I love the mix of colors and the eco-friendly value they add to your home.
Carly Home Scalloped Pillow : This beauty haunts me in my dreams. It constantly pops up as a targeted AD because I looked at it once and now we are in love. I have yet to pull the trigger on it because it’s on the pricey side and I need to get a pair.
Scalloped Headboard: Yes to this headboard. I love the color, I love the material and I love that it has piping on it. It’s a very nice detail that makes any piece look more high-end. Plus it’s an amazing price point.
Scalloped Lampshade with trim: If you are picking up a lampshade from anywhere other than HomeGoods or Home Depot they are going to be pricey. Can you get by with a regular ole lampshade, sure, but if you want to give your lamp a little something special then splurge on a fancier lampshade. This scalloped shade comes in a rainbow selection of different trim options and too many sizes to count.
Scalloped pot with stand: How sweet is this scalloped edge pot for your favorite plant. I love it and the amazing price point! For $10 you could pick up a plant and the pot!
Scalloped Border Curtain Panel: Love the scalloped detailing on these curtain panels. They come in an array of colors and would add the perfect dose of whimsy to any room. I don’t love the tabs they have hanging. I would fold the tabs over and just use curtain rings to install them.
Scalloped Photo Frame: This frame would look so cute in any bookcase. I love the high gloss finish on this piece. It has 20 coats of lacquer!
Scalloped Valance Outdoor Umbrella: Warmer days are here to stay which means we will be spending more time outside. We have been prepping to do some work in the front and back of our house and I fell in love with this umbrella! We are going to have some different seating nooks in the backyard and I think this umbrella will be perfect for one of them.
Scalloped Fabric Pendant Light: With this flush mount there are no excuses for having boob lights in your home. I love the classic shape of this piece with the gold accent. Leave it as or add a ribbon border to it. You could even use fabric paint and paint it a pop of color! At $100 it’s pretty perfect!
Two Toned Scalloped Mirror: This mirror style has been around for awhile. I have used it in both pink and blue for previous client projects. It looks like it has just gotten an update in this glossy finish and I’m totally here for it!
Piped Scalloped Placemats: Parts of my dining room table are glass. It has gotten me into the habit of using placements to add a little color and protect the glass from sticky fingers! How stunning are these placemats in this array of unique colors! They are a total, add to cart!
Marble Scalloped Dish: Every room should have a touch of natural stone. It adds a really pretty texture to a room. I think this would also make for a very special gift, especially for that person who has everything.
Scalloped Edge Roman Shade: If you want to go with a somewhat neutral window treatment option but also have a little surprise then I love this option. This roman shade comes in a variety of neutrals that would work in any space. I love the way they tackled the scalloped border. It’s not sweet, but edgy.
Scalloped Edge Upholstered Bed: If your style leans more toward California Modern, Transitional, Earthy, or Modern then I think this bed is perfect for you. I love the sides and it comes in this beautiful olive green or antique white.
Scalloped Dhurrie Rug: I love the rug shop and all of their beautiful rugs from India. I have ordered many for clients and they are always stunning. I’m not always the biggest fan of Dhurrie or Flatweave style rugs because of how thin they are but they do tend to have beautiful patterns and colors in them. So, when I use them I always combine it with a thick rug pad to give it a little bounce and cushion.
So, what do you think about scalloped home decor items? I think these items give you a good idea of what is out there to tackle the trend in a timeless matter in an array of design styles.
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
