This Sunday I will be celebrating Easter with my family. I’m not hosting this year, but I thought it would be fun to do a little set up of what I would have done if I had been hosting. Now I know we all don’t celebrate Easter so I didn’t go bunny crazy. Hopefully it can give you some good ideas for any Springtime celebration you are hosting.

The color story came together very naturally. I fell in love with this guava and white striped tablecloth and set that as my starting point. The rest of the color story, pink, mint, blue purple all came from some batik fabric I picked up for napkins.

For table decoration I decided to just go with flowers and a table runner. The runner was simply some fabric from my fabric closet that I cut to size and then folded over the sides to hide the exposed hem.

I found that the cost of flowers have spiked a bit with Passover and Easter this coming week. In order to keep cost down on flowers I don’t get fancy mixing a bunch of different types. I picked one type, Ranunculas and just did a mix of colors to add interest. These were $5.99 a bunch at Trader Joes!

I almost forgot the biggest impact of the decor! I decided to take some more of my fabric from my fabric closet and make some strips and add it to my chandelier to make a fabric chandelier of sorts. So easy and so cheap to do!

I did absolutely no sewing for this set up so when I wanted custom napkins I simply picked up quilters square from JoAnn’s for $1. 19 a square (Not sure why they are more online) and used them as my napkins. One square was enough for two napkins. A simply cut down the middle and voila!

{ The batik was my little nod to Easter, because the tie dye like pattern on the fabric reminded me of dyed easter eggs.}

I had little bud vases that were placecard holders so I added a full carnation (reminded me of a bunny tail) and some jelly beans into the water for fun and color! I made the placecard paper using cardstock and some simple polka dots I painted on.

I don’t often pick up new dinnerware for a dinner, but when I found these plates in the perfect shade of green in the $1 price range that I had to pick some up!

Since you know my love for tea I decided to add a little tea station with my favorite elephant teapot and creamer and those almost too pretty to eat striped wafers. They all fit right at home on my greek key lucite tray.You can even see a peek at my latest DIY vase in the mix as well.
