Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

I was so excited when I received an email from two of my favorite color loving bloggers turned friends! Jennifer from Dimples & Tangles and Rachel from Pencil Shavings Studio came up with the idea of hosting a blog hop featuring colorful Christmas tours! I was happy and excited to be a part of it! […]

It’s A Colorful Life Christmas Tour!

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is getting my craft one! Typically I stress out during the holidays and this year I tried to nip that in the bud by doing all of my holiday shopping right after Thanksgiving and then decorating the house the first week of December. Now that all […]

Campaign style furniture dates back to the 19th century. The furniture was designed for travel which meant that you could break them down into a smaller pieces for carrying. Today’s reproductions don’t break down, but they still have the same classic shape and brass detailing. I have loved them for years and I don’t think […]

Style Plan: Eclectic Glam Living Room

Since I love color and pattern a lot of the time I get to flex those design muscles much more with kids rooms. Adults take a little more convincing that beige is not the only color that exists on the color wheel. I loved working on this tween bedroom style plan, because it’s honestly something […]

Tween Bedroom Style Plan

A trip to Target is never quite just a trip to Target. I always go in for diapers and end up food shopping, getting household items, picking up clothes and then oh yeah maybe a home decor item or two. I have seriously never had a $20 Target bill. Let’s add another zero and then […]

Top 5 Nate Berkus Finds

I do love my dose of color and pattern, but my personal design style has always been a little touch of everything. I love traditional spaces with a twist, a dose of prep, grandma chic aka some chintz and vintage and a little bit of cottage/country. Sounds a bit everywhere, but it actually all goes […]

Being so close to Manhattan I have a good amount of clients that live in apartments. In the NYC area most apartments are on the small side unless you have quite the wallet. I’m always on the search for smaller scale furniture that will fit a tight space yet still look chic are designer friendly […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
