HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

TO-THE-TRADE-DESIGNER-FABRICS

Fabrics are my favorite! I can look at new patterns day in and out. I love taking in the designs and really looking at them and appreciating what went into them. Then add in all of the different colorway options that are available and I can be distracted all day!  Many times picking out fabrics […]

how-to-get-the-most-out-of-custom-pillows

I think Jon will vouch that I’m known as a pillow connoisseur. He is reminded of it every night when he has to take off all of the accent pillows from our bed and then put them back on the bed in the morning. Ah! What can I say, it’s an occupational hazard! It’s a […]

Designer Tips for Custom Pillows

interior-design-long-island

One of my favorite parts of the design process with a client has to be fabric selection. I love going thru my fabric library and putting together different colors and patterns from a variety of vendors. It’s always interesting to see the mix come together especially when you are representing a variety of fabric houses. […]

Oh guys! Please tell me you are dealing with Daylight savings as well as I am. I woke up at 8am and panicked because Hudson’s bus arrives at 8:10 and he was still asleep. A mad scramble to get everyone up, make breakfast, get the boys dressed, pack lunches and then dash out the door […]

Scenes from my weekend…

fabric scheme in berry, citron and seafoam

One of my favorite parts of the design process is coming up with a fabric plan for a client. There are just so many beautiful fabrics to pick from and I love jumping around from showroom to showroom and putting together a plan that works perfectly together. For today’s pattern play I decide to pick […]

teal blue, citron yellow and black fabric

Whenever I work with a client my first goal is to get them on board with a fabric scheme. So, many times people come to me and want help, but they have no idea what they want to do. They don’t even really know what they like. Would they be comfortable with colors or do […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
