Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]

From Sold to Home: Working with a Lowes Kitchen Designer

Like I have said in the past doing a gut reno, especially during a pandemic is not for the faint of heart. We were lucky enough to be able to move in with my parents and when the hits kept coming with delays, we were okay and had someplace to stay. The last time I […]

From House to Home: The Kitchen Renovation Plan

Ah! Its One Room Challenge Week 5 and I’m not going to lie I’m a bit stressed! We had a little hiccup with our tile. I hadn’t planned on doing niche’s originally so I never accounted for the extra tile they would require. It’s not a ton. Literally, I just need 10 more tiles, but […]

Here on Long Island, we have now entered phase 2! Which means that we are hopeful that we are back on track. Construction was back up and running under phase 1 and we were able to get insulation put in. We are now waiting on getting a window company scheduled to install a bay window […]

House Progress: Making Moves!

As you now know we finally bought a new house. It was in rough shape and what started out as a demo to remove the walls and put up new sheetrock has turned into so much more! Once we finished the demo and removed the walls, insulation and Limonium flooring we realized so much more […]

House Progress: Demo

If you have been following along on this blog for some time then you know that a couple of years ago we had to sell our house. We originally bought the house as newlyweds when kids weren’t even a thought. In fact, we declared we just wanted dogs and no kids! So, the fact that […]

There’s No Place Like A (New) Home

get inspired with our own home tour

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
