HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

Thanks for all your “release me early from jury duty” vibes, because it worked! I got out around noon! Woo hoo.   I was able to go to my seamstress and pick up a slipcover and do some client shopping. While walking around the mall I stopped in my tracks at the sight of Chiang […]

A Happy Surprise

Good morning all!   While you are all sitting down at your desks with a warm cup of coffee or tea in hand  getting ready to settle in and make some damage on your google reader I’m at JURY DUTY!   I had my fingers crossed all week that my number wouldn’t be called, but […]

Design Crush: Trina Turk

A couple of weeks ago I walked away from this chair. I loved the lines of it, the wood/frame was in really good condition and there were 2 of them!   Of course new fabric was needed. Along with the need for a trip to the upholster.     As I was flipping through my […]

A perfect pair..

I don’t know what it is, but I think every girl wants a little bit of Audrey Hepburn in her. Breakfast at Tiffany is one of Audrey’s most well known movies and of course one of my favorites.   One of my favorite parts of the movie is Holly getting ready to go visit […]

Meet me at Sing Sing

While out shopping yesterday for a client I made a quick stop at Kmart to see what they had in their frame department.   Of course after peeking at the frames I continued making my way through all the home decor aisles.   I stopped in my tracks when I spotted this baby: Ah totally […]

Chinoiserie Chic at KMART!

My latest DIY project that I want to tackle in the house is my kitchen floor.   I’ve been dreaming of round penny tile, but my dream comes with a rather large price tag so for the time being I’ve been trying to think of an inexpensive fix.   My mind has been wandering to […]

Striped floors…

The lovely Ms. Ridder gave some fab tips in her Town & Country piece on how to escape the sea of beige!   Tip 1: Candy-hued Venetian-glass chandeliers. According to her colored glass helps add a vibe of casualness to a room.   Now the one she recommends is over $14,000! You know I’m a […]

Katie Ridder Tips

It must have gotten out that I go around calling people darling and sit in the back seat of the car so that I can scream Home, James to Jon, because for some reason I now receive Town and Country magazine. Yup I’m fancy like that.   I’m not going to lie I never really […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
