Today’s latest IN HER SHOES featured lady is the one and only, Shannon from Pink Wallpaper and The Designers Attic. I’ve been blogging since 2008 and Shannon was one of my first blog friends. I simply adore all of the images she posts on her blog. I swear I could be on her computer for days just staring at all of her inspiration images. I just love the stories she tells with them. A while back Shannon started selling off remnant fabric and wallpaper finds and I fell in love with her even more. She has a knack for shopping and always find the best things. Along the way Shannon has added two super adorable kids to her crew and  I just loved reading up on her day and seeing how she juggles it all!

Good morning!!  i am either woken up by walker crying (my 10 month old), taylor (my 3 yr old) crawling into our bed, or my husband’s cellphone alarm going off in my ear (why he doesn’t use the alarm clock, i’m not quite sure)…it’s probably about 6:30.  we all race around.  walker and i eat breakfast together.  he makes sure i share whatever i have….today it’s pretty gourmet- cheerios.

After breakfast, showering, getting dressed, making up the bed, emptying the dishwasher, and throwing in a load of laundry, it’s off to school for taylor.  it’s close by so we walk.  after walker and i drop off tay, we head home and greet our babysitter….it’s about 9:15.

It’s always challenging to actually work from home.  sometimes I image what it would be like to have 3 hrs of uninterrupted silence….it doesn’t happen here.  I start my post for the designer’s attic.  first, i pick out a fabric, photograph it, and write up a little description.  10:00 is when i usually get this blog post up.

I refuse to have a morning w/out coffee.  I LOVE my coffee….two cups.  now it’s time to leave and go do my daily post office run (i am trying to be more savvy and have the post office pick up my packages…i just haven’t gotten there yet).

I don’t enjoy my post office visits.  mostly b/c i usually have walker in my arms and it’s really challenging to carry the boxes and to shut my car door w/ my arms full….that is why it’s a treat on the two days a wk i have a sitter. The grumpy post man is here today.  I’m not a fan…and please whatever you do, don’t ask him for tape.  you’ve got to buy that stuff!!

I’m so excited when I have finished w/ the post office!  now off to run errands-  Lowes for spray paint, a quick stop at two of my favorite stores, and drop off pillows at the seamstress’s house.

It’s 1:00 and I am super hungry……I eye the reese’s cups leftover from easter…somehow I don’t eat them.  Home again….pay the sitter and grab a quick bite to eat. here’s a quick shot for you…sorry i didn’t dress up!

1:30 naptime!!  We read books in Taylor’s bed (she was being camera shy), then I give Walker a bottle and they are both down.  Fingers crossed for at least two hrs.

Now that the kiddos are down it’s work time.  I send out invoices, answer all the emails from this AM’s post, cut all the fabrics, label and put them in boxes, eat a snack, and work on an e*design.

They’re up….Walker first, then Tay…it’s about 4:00…today was a good nap day.

My neighbor and her daughter stop by…the kiddos play for about an hour. I start cooking dinner.  I am trying to cook more.  I haven’t been very good about it the last 3 months.  I am always a sucker for fish tacos…it’s my go to meal.  Warren returns from work about 5:45.

We all eat together and then play for another hour.  At 7:00 it’s time for Walker to go to bed and Taylor’s bath time.  I literally just started bathing her at night.  It’s made my life a lot easier…

We take turns reading taylor books each night and then lights out at 8:00 (she stays awake for a lot longer and we have to go in her room 3 or 4x’s before it’s all said and done).  Dessert time for Warren and I.  And I start feeling guilty for not posting on pink wallpaper….I start the post and then look over at my hubbie on the sofa….

I join him in some crappy reality tv show watching….it’s wonderful. barron’s feeling left out so i had to include him in the post.  he looks like this about 99% of the time…i think he wishes those kiddos would leave

10:30 I crawl into bed…..I hear my phone beep….emails….Warren tells me not to look at them…i have a hard time not doing that.  It’s one of my e*design clients….she sends me a pic showing me how pregnant she is…she’s going to have the baby any day now and I decide I need to finish her room asap.  11:00, I put my phone down and fall fast asleep……

A big thanks to Shannon for sharing her day! I love getting sneak peeks of her new home. I think her design style is a great mix between feminine and masculine details that I think Jon would love. The more I look around my own house the girlier it’s been looking to me. Poor Jon.
