IN HER SHOES: Sadie and Stella

Hi All,
Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving day. We had a lovely time out with both sides of our family. Let’s just saw we ate quite a bit and Hudson was a huge hit. For those lucky enough to be home from work today I hope you are vegging out on your sofa with some leftovers and good movies. That’s what we’ll be doing today. Hopefully your online catching up on some blogging reading, because I have a great post for you today.

Today’s IN HER SHOES featured lady gets the honor of being the 80th lady featured.Isn’t that amazing?! I can’t believe how many I’ve been lucky enough to have featured on this site. Lindsay from Sadie & Stellahas been a long time reader and supporter of Effortless Style. She is seriously one of the sweetest ladies I know in the blog world. Her happiness and positive outlook on life just leap off of her blog post comments and emails. While interior design is not her main gig she manages to squeeze in design clients between her 9-5 work load. Hope you enjoy a peek into how she juggles it all.

Hi Camila lovers! I am Lindsay from Sadie + Stella Design and to say I am a fan of this series, would be the largest understatement of the century. I have to be honest, I love being a creeper and cluing into each guest poster’s daily life and today I will let you creep in on mine. For those of you who do not know me, I wear many hats. I am an insurance broker by day, interior designer/blogger/stylist by night. So my day to day activities vary quite frequently. Here is the most normal of normal days you are going get with me.

5:30 A.M. Time to wake up for the day. I try to get my run on. Sometimes this happens, sometimes it doesn’t. Today it did. I am not going to lie to you and tell you that exercising is some kind of release for me. Exercising sucks. I do it for vanity’s sake. 
6:30 A.M. I be blogging. Blogging is such a big part of my life. If I miss a day, I feel naked. It’s weird. I try to compile all of my imagery the night before but I save the writing for the morning. Don’t ask me why. I am mentally unstable. Obviously. God Bless America. 
8:00 A.M. I show up to my 8:00-5:00 job and lose myself in analysis of loss ratios and spreadsheets. You are jealous. I am certain. I stay here for a few hours. Don’t worry, I didn’t light that Voluspa candle. It is there for the packaging and the aroma only. To light it would be some kind of fire hazard. Insurance 101. 
12:04 P.M. I spend my lunch hour at a local design showroom. Could I love this fabric anymore if I tried? Doubt it. I browse. 
1:36 P.M. Back to what obviously makes me happy. Risk management and mounds of paper. This whole supposed paperless society people speak of, does not exist in insurance. 
5:15 P.M. I arrive back to my home office to work on some client projects. Fabrics + Furniture = Fun. This is what I want to be doing full time. It is going to happen. One day. One day. 
6:30 P.M. I drop by a client’s house for an install. We found this table for her entryway. It is the most perfect  Chinese red and I contemplate stealing it from her. 
8:30 P.M. We get our eat and drink on at a local eatery with friends. I get moules frites. I am French like that. I have never met a shellfish I didn’t like.  
 10:00 P.M. We are finally home with our girls. They watch T.V. together. This is their spot. We sit for awhile and then go to bed. 
That is a day in the life. Thank you so much for having me and liking me enough to creep into my life. I totally enjoyed sharing it with you. Come and visit me at Sadie + Stella and I will let you into my life on the reg. Loves! XOXO

get inspired with our own home tour

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
