HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

Last year Jon’s parents sold their home and moved out east. For those of you not local to Long Island, out east is the east end of the island. Right before it forks into the North Fork and South Fork aka Hamptons and Montuck there is a town called Riverhead. It’s a bit of a […]

knotted-headband-round-up

I love a good fashion accessory, but I must admit I wasn’t always one to rock a headband. I have always loved the look of sunglasses perched on my head, but that’s not always ideal. So, when I found a knotted headband that gave me similar height to sunglasses I decided to test it out! […]

chippendale-planters-for-a-steal

I have been in the planting mood. We set up a veggie garden a couple of weeks ago and then also spruced up the front of the house with flowers. At our old house I use to flank the door with planters and plant a magnolia tree. I loved the symmetry of the two planters. […]

outdoor-entertaining-from-target

The best part about the warmer weather is getting an extra room in your house! I love getting to use a deck or a patio for relaxing, playing and eating! Currently we are crashing at my parents house while we will house hunt. Fingers crossed I have something to share on that front very soon! […]

I have been blogging since 2008! That’s a whole lot of time and in that time I started off on blogspot with a blog header that I designed. It was short lived and quickly updated when I found an artist to help me with a sketch for the header. Isn’t it crazy that back in […]

We got a jumpstart on our weekend when I got a call on Thursday at 4am. It was go time for my sister! Her water broke and she was going to labor at home for a bit and then head into the hospital. I got the boys off to school and then headed into the […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
