My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
I have a Nikon, not one with interchangeable lenses but I love it. It was a gift from the hubby for mothers day. I say keep it. It will make him happy. He did real good.
I am so jealous, I really really really wanted a good camera for Christmas, but did not get one. I wish I could help but I do not know which one would be better….
Hmmm… Erika's pictures do look amazing… I had a Nikon & I broke it (Halloween party + too much witch's brew = oops!) and it was a really wide angle lense great for getting shots of entire rooms. I loved it. But then I wanted a camera that made ppl look good so I bought my friend's camera bc her pics always looked great, a Canon. Maybe I'm more critical of my own pics, but I still miss my Nikon. (I know the canon I have is a different model, but my pics are all from a Canon so you can check them out.) hope I didn't confuse you more!
I am looking into getting a Digital SLR as well and from what I hear, it’s totally a personal preference thing. Apparently, one isn’t better than the other, it just depends on what feels more comfortable to you. They both take excellent pictures. Congratulations!
You can’t go wrong either way — read The Lil Bee’s recent comments about her camera and what people were saying about both. It seems both a great options and I can’t wait to see your new pics!
I had a good one and Santa got it right on the money with my Philip Lim gloves, 2 M. Sasek first edition children’s books, a new purse, camera and other goodies that I’m still reeling over!
I got a Canon for Christmas and so far so good. I thought it seemed a bit easier to handle than the others. For me that’s a biggie because I know I’m not going to be a professional or anything.
Let me just say now that I am sooooooooooooo jealous. 🙁
Just discovered your blog, but thought I’d give my two cents. Stick with the Nikon! I was eyeing that model, but we went for a point and shoot instead.
Love your blog, I frequent often. Anyway, I have the Cannon and love it, but my photographer friend has the Nikkon and loves it too. Either way, they are both cameras, the key thing is learning how to use it to make the awesome pictures. Good luck!
I have the D40, the more rookie version of yours, and I love it. I compared the Canon and Nikons, and you’re right – it’s really justa comparison of Red Delicious versus Gala. Many photogs seem to have their preference. Go back to Erika’s posts on cameras, and you see she reminds us rookie dSLR-ers (as she learned)that it’s all in the LENS!! Can’t wait to see your new forays with the camera – you’ll love it!
I believe Nikon is known best for amazing lenses and high image quality. It’s a true “photographer’s” camera. Canon may just be more user-friendly/mainstream.
yeah! i love my canon… it was actually a suggestion from 2 pro photographers (one interior photographer and one portrait/childrens photographer), both of whom used to shoot with Nikons but have since changed… I think they are totally comparable cameras. I know there are pros who shoot with both. I really got the canon in the end because I already had lenses from my old non-digital SLR, which I was really comfortable with. let me know what you decided to do!
