  1. ms. less is always more says:

Love love love the tulip table… can’t get enough. I personally think you can pair ANY kind of chair with the table and it will be perfect! How couldn’t it be? That table is a dream!

  2. down and out chic says:

blair’s blog is always full of good inspiration! good luck (and i don’t know how you made that plastic work, but it’s not bad).

  3. Laura Casey Interiors says:

I like the idea of the slipcovered chairs, just make sure you don’t hide the bottom of the table if you go for the tulip. Am sure it will look great!

  4. MyLittleHappyPlace says:

Thanks for the referral to Blair's blog (as IF I need to spend any more time on them! 😉

I've used that pic before, too – it is truly a perfect example of combining styles.
I love the pleated slips (seen Lauren use them, and they look great!), but I too am wondering if they'll obscure the view of your soon-to-be-snagged fabulous Tulip table???

Down & Out Chic is right, though – you made a plastic outdoor table work, I'm sure whatever you go with will be fab!

  5. Blair says:

Oh, thank you so much for saying such nice things about my blog!:) You just made my day.

Good luck hunting for a table in need of a home!!

  6. Under a Green Roof says:

love the tulip table! cool mis-matched antique chairs would be a really neat contrast – and easy to find (usually)

  7. KJZW says:

I am a huge fan of any round table. I think it just makes the space so inviting. My grandmother has an old table similar to this one, and mismatched chairs that she picked just because she loved them. I loved the picture, it is totally encouraging me to create a similar look at my house.

  8. pve design says:

We started with black metal folding chairs, so there is hope. I think finding chairs that are comfy and easy to stack or to clean is essential. I love the round table, and I also love a slipper chair but I like having air, having legs and also a mix….
I will see if there is a table for you near here….I have a great vintage shop.

  10. agirliegirl says:

A round dining room table is on my wish list too, but I don’t want to buy a dining room “set”. For me, it seems too stuffy and too “together”.

Maybe mismatched chairs, but with a matching and/or complimenting fabric?

My goal is to find different flea market find type chairs and paint and/or recover to match.

    Just a thought.

  11. Pink Wallpaper says:

you just have look…you will find them in the most unexpected places when you really don’t have the $$ to be spending…i found my oly table that had been in country living showhouse just like that!!

  12. Love Where You Live says:

Love your idea for the fabric over the table! Looks so fresh and spontaneous! -susan

  13. Haven and Home says:

    LOVEEEEEE this!!!!!

  14. mootsie0109 says:

I love this dining room! Such a great way to combine looks! I’ve been trying to figure out my dining room since I bought my house three years ago, and I think this is perfect. I’ve had a similar chandelier and some decent wood chairs. I found a vintage tulip table on craigslist that I will hopefully get this weekend. Add a coat of paint to my buffet, and some lamps and I think it should look great! Thanks so much for the post! I’m a huge fan of your blog!

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
