All week I’ve been trying to work away on my TO –DO list.
1. Make sure I have feature lady set up for this Friday’s IN HER SHOES.
2. Read The Martha Rules to try and get an edge with my business. Besides who doesn’t want to know the key to her success?
3. Start and finish laundry!
4. Go food shopping.
5. Make pillows for guest bedroom.
Hang up artwork in guest bedroom.
Hang up new artwork in Dining Room
Go to thrift shops and acquire artwork for downstairs bath.
Finally make a decision on dining room.
Order fabric for euro shams in bedroom.
Finish artwork in bedroom.
I seriously could go on and on and continue in my fit of tears because nothing got done this week.
I did go out to the library and take out The Martha Rules so that’s a step.
I also started my laundry and folded most of it, but it’s still sitting in a laundry basket and not put away.
I managed to go out to the supermarket yesterday, but just to pick up brownie making supplies and no actual real food.
I have also looked at all the artwork, pillows etc and said I’m going to get that in a couple of mins and then bam nothing!
Feeling under the weather all week hasn’t helped and this morning I woke up and was led to tears, because I just don’t feel well and it’s making my TO-DO list be never ending!
So sorry for the lamo, lamo post, but my mind could not concentrate on anything else this morning. I just have the list on repeat going on in my brain.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!!
I’m going to go eat a brownie, take a deep breath, tackle some things on my list and try to get into a much better mood.
I have been sick all week too 🙁 Don't worry your list will get done happily after your sick, just rest and relax all weekend so you can be up and running next week.
I have weeks like that, trust me. Thing is, nothing is absolutely imperative. And if it is…it'll get done. I know that doesn't make it better, but it helps me when I'm overwhelmed! Hope you're feeling better and you get lots done this weekend!
I can't decide whether that laundry room is amazing or horrifying. Amazing because, well, look at it. Horrifying because moms have to spend that much time doing laundry that they need a room that size and that beautiful to keep them sane. : ( On another note, I'd want that table in my kitchen or dining room! And I love the glass container for detergent.
add a 52" TV in that laundry room, maybe a cooler and that, ladies is how you get a man to the laundry room! Many times it is an image like that laundry room that inspire me more than say a living room, kitchen or master bedroom. Everyone can run home this evening, empty there box of detergent into a glass jar or more attractive container. Attainable design is what it is really all about. I always tell my clients–small changes start the process.
That sounds a lot like my never-ending to-do list. Don't feel bad though. When you are sick, it's best to just take it easy. At least you got the book – I'm curious to hear about that one too.
weeks like these are just inevitable sometimes. I've recently learned that it's okay to chalk it up to a loss sometimes and move on. haha. hope you have a good weekend!
Well, you're got the todo list so you can let a little of it go while get get to feeling better. It'll be there all written down and waiting for you. Hope you start feeling better soon soon soon!
Don't be so hard on yourself. You will get to your list. Just feel better. Thanks for the tip on Martha Rules. Looks like a book I need to pick up too.
Wonder if Martha would ever want to do a "IN her shoes" post? As for Rules and lists, tackle one thing at a time. Taking a walk, getting outside and slowing myself down always helps me to get my lists tackled! Hope you are back in your high heels again and feeling a spring in your step and your list! pve
yes want to read that martha rules!!! jeesh i need tro get to the bookstore as there are now so many getting added to my list!! (that would be BAAAD for the budget– maybe call family members and alert of gifts i want??!! hee hee)
anyway, take it easy & just relax. you'll be ol.. just get a few things done & relax about the rest. huge hug!!! xoxxo
Hi there adore the emerald green slippers, great alternative to the Ruby slippers!rip the to do lists up and just allow yourself to be, for a couple of days its great, sooo theraputic!Sharon xxx ooo
Oh no! I hope you start feeling better soon. If I could come over and put up your laundry for you or go grocery shopping for you or make you chicken noodle soup, I would!
Camila – this was a marvelous post despite you not feeling well.I too need to read Martha's rules & will put that on my never ending list. I let my tasks to tackle' overwhelm me on a daily basis and ultimately it makes me feel bad about myself. So, I am attempting (ATTEMPTING mind you) to take just one item @ a time & not jump to far ahead. It's amazing how just one lousy task crossed off makes me feel at the top of the world. The bad news (& I know this get's old) but time DOES go bye at a much faster rate as you get older. So, enjoy each day. It feels like I close my eyes & a week as slipped thru my fingers. Get well my dear & hugs xx
I totally know how you feel. I just typed up my TO DO list and it is literally 5 pages front and back. I look at it and have to remind myself to breathe. Which is exactly what I would recommend doing- deep breaths. I know that sounds corny but just trust me- do it 🙂 xoRH

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Can you add "Do a post reviewing the Martha Rules because Karen at Strictly Simple Style asked me to"?
I can't wait to hear about that one.
Weren't you recovering from a bad cold or flu? Maybe you need to take it a little easy. Wish I could help you.
I've had The Martha Rules on my list forever too!! Maybe its time to start it.
I hope you get some things done this weekend to cross off your list. Have a great weekend! xoxo
I have been sick all week too 🙁 Don't worry your list will get done happily after your sick, just rest and relax all weekend so you can be up and running next week.

Try not to get too overwhelmed by it.
Since it's Wednesday now, I hope you've been able to cross a bunch off your list!
