The never ending TO-DO list

  1. Karen@StrictlySimpleStyle says:

Can you add "Do a post reviewing the Martha Rules because Karen at Strictly Simple Style asked me to"?
I can't wait to hear about that one.

Weren't you recovering from a bad cold or flu? Maybe you need to take it a little easy. Wish I could help you.

  2. LindsB says:

I've had The Martha Rules on my list forever too!! Maybe its time to start it.

I hope you get some things done this weekend to cross off your list. Have a great weekend! xoxo

  3. MiriamR says:

I have been sick all week too 🙁 Don't worry your list will get done happily after your sick, just rest and relax all weekend so you can be up and running next week.

  4. Blondie says:

All I could focus on were those gorgeous shoes!!!! I want them! Have a great weekend girl. Hope you get all your things done! Kori xoxo

  5. Ms. Bright says:

I have weeks like that, trust me. Thing is, nothing is absolutely imperative. And if it is…it'll get done. I know that doesn't make it better, but it helps me when I'm overwhelmed! Hope you're feeling better and you get lots done this weekend!

  6. Alaina @ Live Creating Yourself says:

I can't decide whether that laundry room is amazing or horrifying. Amazing because, well, look at it. Horrifying because moms have to spend that much time doing laundry that they need a room that size and that beautiful to keep them sane. : ( On another note, I'd want that table in my kitchen or dining room! And I love the glass container for detergent.

    Alaina

  7. Nicole-Lynn says:

Thanks for the book reccomendation! I need to look into that. I love the picture of the shoes and laundry room.. what a dream! 🙂

  8. Bungalow Home says:

add a 52" TV in that laundry room, maybe a cooler and that, ladies is how you get a man to the laundry room! Many times it is an image like that laundry room that inspire me more than say a living room, kitchen or master bedroom. Everyone can run home this evening, empty there box of detergent into a glass jar or more attractive container. Attainable design is what it is really all about. I always tell my clients–small changes start the process.

  9. Flavia @ Estilo Home says:

That sounds a lot like my never-ending to-do list. Don't feel bad though. When you are sick, it's best to just take it easy. At least you got the book – I'm curious to hear about that one too.

  10. Amanda @ Serenity Now says:

  19. pve design says:

Wonder if Martha would ever want to do a "IN her shoes" post? As for Rules and lists, tackle one thing at a time. Taking a walk, getting outside and slowing myself down always helps me to get my lists tackled!
Hope you are back in your high heels again and feeling a spring in your step and your list!
    pve

I hope you are feeling better and made a dent in that list!

  29. Dumbwit Tellher says:

Camila – this was a marvelous post despite you not feeling well.I too need to read Martha's rules & will put that on my never ending list. I let my tasks to tackle' overwhelm me on a daily basis and ultimately it makes me feel bad about myself. So, I am attempting (ATTEMPTING mind you) to take just one item @ a time & not jump to far ahead. It's amazing how just one lousy task crossed off makes me feel at the top of the world. The bad news (& I know this get's old) but time DOES go bye at a much faster rate as you get older. So, enjoy each day. It feels like I close my eyes & a week as slipped thru my fingers. Get well my dear & hugs xx

  30. Alicia B. Designs says:

Oh, how I love lists! I really want Martha Rules now! Sounds hardcore. I hope that brownie is/was good!

    Alicia

  32. nestegg says:

I totally know how you feel. I just typed up my TO DO list and it is literally 5 pages front and back. I look at it and have to remind myself to breathe.
Which is exactly what I would recommend doing- deep breaths. I know that sounds corny but just trust me- do it 🙂 xoRH

  33. Rachel says:

This sounds like my "to-do" list! I swear it's never ending.

Try not to get too overwhelmed by it.

Since it's Wednesday now, I hope you've been able to cross a bunch off your list!

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]

Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]

What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
