  16. Michelle says:

I know you were probably mortified, but I love that your photographer caught you slipping. My mortifying moment was my dad stepping on my cathedral length veil. HA! Laughter alleviates some of that crazy nervousness.

    Our first dance song was So Wonderful, So Marvelous by Tower of Power {thus the namesake of my blog!}

    Happy Anniversary!!!!

  17. Daniela says:

Happy Anniversary Sissy!!! Send Jon my love! It really was a fantastic wedding!

You forgot to mention the best part though, the shoes, were named after a certain someone! Eh, hem…

  18. I'maNolaGirl says:

Gorgeous photos!! We danced to At Last, and my college roommate sang it for us. So special!

  19. Emily A. Clark says:

What a beautiful wedding. That last photo is my favorite. BTW, our first dance song was "At Last." Not too original but I kind of saved that decision until the last minute. . .

  20. Leila says:

    GOR-GE-OUS! Love it all!

Sorry in advance if you get the same message twice. Computer had a hiccup.

Happy Anniversary to you and your lucky hubby! 🙂

I wish I had a wedding song to share with you that we danced to but hubby and I never had a wedding. Disappointing, I know. 🙂 One song we do have a special memory of dancing to though, was "Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me", (longest song title, ever) by the handsome Tim McGraw and his stunning wife Faith Hill.

On a side note: my Emerson Made clutch showed up today! With two little extra pins to my very pleasant surprise! Words just don't do it justice. be.still.my.heart.
    Thanks so much again!!!!

Happy Anniversary… our four year dating anniversary is later this month. Obviously we don't have a wedding 1st dance song yet… not to mention that we don't have a song, period! No idea what we'd end up with.

  33. pam@pixelimpress says:

first dance? didn't happen until 2 years after our wedding when we were at another wedding. odd, huh? we had a small (only 2 other guests) beach wedding on maui with simply dinner afterward. we had never danced before the wedding either. we've never been to a movie theater together either. ok, i'm revealing way too much!

    love your wedding dress!

and love what you did with your mom's kitchen. so awesome! i soooo want to paint our cabinets now.

    happy new year! pam

  34. Jennifer says:

Your wedding was so BEAUTIFUL! Congrats on 4 years! Our song was/is "More Than Words" by Extreme. Has been since we first started dating. My now-hubby put headphones on my ears and told me to listen cause this song reminds him of me 🙂 That's why I married him! <3

  36. Veronica King: aka Queen Vee says:

Happy Anniversary! I was nodding along about time flying, realizing that it's been almost 7 years for me! I was sure we were still newlyweds! It's crazy, I feel so young and like our wedding was just yesterday, but I guess two kids later you have to stand back and realize the beauty in every single year.

Here's to many more beautiful years for you and yours. =]

  37. Jen says:

YES! The pics are up now! I knew you'd fix it! Happy Anniversary; it's so fun to reminisce isn't it!? Hope you have such a lovely day with your hubby!

  40. Blueprint Bliss says:

    Beautiful photos. Happy Anniversary!

  41. The Brick Cottage says:

Happy Anniversary! Those shoes are awesome! I'm with you–I hate being the center of attention and because of that I was extremely nervous. Our first dance was supposed to be "Lullaby" by The Dixie Chicks (surprising pick considering we don't listen to country music). Supposed to be meaning that when the time came, I looked at Bryan and asked "is it ok if we skip the dance?" and he said "sure". whew!

  42. Erin says:

Those are gorgeous pictures!! You look beautiful!

(our first dance was to Sinatra's "Our love is here to stay".

  43. Janis@White Alder[Home] says:

    Beautiful pictures, LOVE the dress!!!!!

Our song was "At Last" by Etta James….I dated a few frogs before finding my prince so I knew this had to be the song.

  47. Melissa says:

Gorgeous wedding. Congrats on four years of marriage.

  48. the fourth door says:

Love the wedding pictures! Especially the dress- It was one of the ones I looked at while dress shopping as well. Don't worry about being a two dress bride, sometimes those sales suck us in and we end up losing sight of OUR dress. (Says the girl that had more dresses than you)

Our first dance was Happy Together by the Turtles. And we both unknowingly got the others ring engraved with lines from the song. I have Happy Together, he has Me and You, I do.

  49. LKP says:

i guess i'm the only one who had TWO-count'em-two wedding songs. we were stingy and didn't want to rush to the parent dances too fast. so we had one song we knew & loved & described us to a T, and then one we loved that people would recognize. the first was "no ordinary love" by (of all people) jennifer love hewitt. the second was "what a wonderful world" by louis armstrong. both were perfect & we received many compliments on both choices. greatest part, when we went on our honeymoon there was this orchestra/big band of old cats that are amazing on a band stand called the whirlygig. they played "what a wonderful world" for us…US in the middle of a sea of fabulous dancers. it was magic.
    happy anniversary.

  50. Shannon says:

Gorgeous Camila! Seriously, I wanna see more please! And happy anniversary!

We danced to INXS' Never Tear Us Apart, it was my favorite part of the day.

  51. Vintage Junky says:

Beautiful… really love the vintage necklace. And, we danced to "Memories are Made of This" sung by Johnny Cash.. kinda random, but so are we!

    happy anniversary!
    Michelle

  52. pve design says:

Happy Anniversary to you both. Wishing you tons of love and happiness.
    Cheers to you.
    pve

  53. Christine says:

So happy you shared those beautiful pictures of your big day. Loved all of them.

BTW, I have a pair of black cocktail heels exactly like that (with the nice big bow on the back) and they always get loads of comments. Bows rock…in the right spot of course.

    Congrats.

  57. Tara says:

Congrats on your anniversary! Marriage is so grand, exciting, lovely, and wonderful! I hope you and Jon continue to have years and years of joy together!

Since you asked, our wedding song is an old R&B soul song called "This Love" by The Joytones. Look for it on YouTube, it's great!

  58. Shelly @littlemrsdoitall says:

I think I'm with everyone else….LOVING YOUR DRESS! Can you ship it to me so I can just wear it around the house? Kidding. SO pretty tho! Congrats on 4 years…I feel ya on the time flying. Our wedding song was "Love You Just the Way You Are"..Billy Joel. BTW, I'm new to your blog…love it!

  59. Averill says:

Congrats, Camilia! You looked absolutely gorgeous on your wedding day and I love your shoes!

…As for first songs, we didn't have one! Dave's one request was that we didn't dance, and so we didn't. The reception was at an old Southern mansion and given the small rooms and two floors, we just had two small groups of instrumentalists (and two bars!) and it worked out fine. Still though, kinda wish I'd just made him dance anyway. 🙂

  60. ~Chandelier No. 4~ says:

Oh Camila! Your wedding was SO beautiful… and so was the bride! The flowers, the invite… all so tastefully done.

    Congrats on your 4th anniversary!!!

P.S. Our song was 'Wouldn't It Be Nice'… the WORST song ever to dance to, but a really great story/reason behind it.

    ~ Joanna

  61. DG says:

Wow! Everything about that day looks perfect. Happy Anniversary.

At our relaxed, buffet style, picnic reception 12 years ago, we set up my husband's 50 piece CD changer (thank goodness for the invention of the ipod, right)….didn't really have a dance planned, just a good time.
When "my first, my last, my everything" by Barry White started we knew that was OUR song.
Babies and "busyness" hasn't kept us from enjoying each other or our friends, as we host a blow out bash every year. I love that you share real things about yourself.
    Cheers,
    DG

  62. Ms. Bright says:

Absolutely lovely! Congrats on 4 happy years!!

And don't worry- we ALL would've done our big days a little bit differently had we had the help of all our bloggy buddies and their inspirations!

    Have a wonderful day!

We dance to “Testimonio” by Juan Luis Guerra.

  71. Stephanie says:

So adorable! I wanted Jon, my husband, to cry when I walked down the aisle, but he didn’t either. What are ya gonna do? Our song is Just the Way You Are by Billy Joel. Hope you had a great anniversary!

  72. Deb's mind says:

You were a beautiful bride. You are such a resourceful gal!! Congratulations and Happy Anniversary. My wedding song was Stevie Wonder’s You are the Sunshine of my life…….hey it was 1976……so I get a pass right?

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
