Same pattern, two color ways, 1 room?

  1. Shannon @ What's Up Whimsy says:

Just right, I'd say!! I am "pinning" that room because it so gorgeous!!

  2. {Amanda} says:

Beautiful! I really like accent chairs in a bit of a wild print 🙂

I've given you an Award on my blog!

  3. alanna rose says:

Just right, but only because she used both patterns sparingly. Plus there isn't any other bright patterns going on, otherwise it would be too much.

I love how the lacquer colorway looks on that sofa!

  4. Averill says:

I'm not normally a fan of using the same prints in different color ways — it's a bit matchy-matchy…and there are just so many amazing patterns you can play with!

Having said that though, I really do love Chiang Mai and I'm not sure you can ever get enough of it!

  5. Helena - A Diary of Lovely says:

I thought so, ooh thank goodness you are here to prove my eyes are not going crazy! I love the awuamarine!

  6. Saara @ GEORGE Interior Design says:

I think it works in this room for two reasons. 1. The second use (pillows) is minimal. 2. The pattern is busy enough that you may actually not notice there are two colorways until you look hard. I dont think it would look as good if you were using two, simple geometrics for example. That's my two-cents!

  7. KrzyKron says:

Looks perfect to me! I think with that bold of a pattern, too much of it would look off.
Wish I had that type of imagination to put something so beautiful together!

  8. barbara@hodge:podge says:

OK – my favourite fabric again! I can't take it anymore!

  9. aman says:

I open your blog and i see your blog is very fabulous as compare to other blog , It is attractive and fascinate blog
your content is very impressive. All Employers say they are impressed by job candidates who have excellent communication
skills and work experience And absolutely possible that one of those not-so- perfect days may happen to coincide
with the day of a job interview.

  10. Robyn says:

I love the amount that was used. Just enough! Pattern can get out of hand. Especially the same pattern. The color is wonderful in the fabrics. It really brings something of interest to the room.

  11. cassie @ hi sugarplum! says:

I'm crazy for that fabric!!! It has all the best colors to pull from…and is so fun! And I'm starting to like a repeat print…instead of it being 'matchy-matchy', I think it lends to more cohesiveness. Retraint is not my strong suit.

  12. Jade @ Flip Flops + Pearls Design says:

I think it works…being in two different color ways takes away from the "matchy matchy" aspect and since it's used sparingly, it makes it subtle.

  13. I Have To Have It says:

I like the two colorways together, but that fireplace is throwing me off–the fireplace has a totally different vibe than the fabrics and the room as a whole just isn't working for me. (Debbie Downer–sorry!)

Totally different subject, but aman's comment above made me laugh out loud. It's Friday and my brain has had it apparently!

  14. Hello Lover... says:

I like it – I guess if you love something that much go for it

If I had my way my whole home would be covered in hicks la fiorentina – I love it in every single colorway!

  15. Oonafey says:

Just right! I love it, I would definitely do something similar.

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]

Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
