Weekend Recap: Outdoor living on the cheap!

  1. Janna says:

I was toying with ideas for adding color to my backyard, including the possibility of spray painting the table and chairs left by the former owner. You inspired me! And I'm making a trip to Ikea this week for those little tealight hangers. CUTE!!!

  2. Janna says:

Oh, btw…our Homegoods will sometimes have outdoor cushions in fun colors. Maybe Pier 1 too??

  3. Mrs. Limestone says:

Oh, loving that trellis from Ikea. That could come in handy!

  4. Lissa says:

Your Yard looks great. I am still chopping mine back from jungle stage. Love the IKEA votives…I will definetly be getting those.
Also, I second what Janna said with Homegoods and Pier 1 for cushions. Pier 1 especially has a ton of choices.

I ordered cushions from Restoration Hardware summer before last and they DRY ROTTED!!! So I replaced them with some from TJ Maxx last summer and they still look brand new! PLUS they have some really TDF trellis patterns!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard!
