Wedding Color Palette
Now I’m not the one getting married. Already been there, done that, but this coming Sunday my parents are renewing their vows.
Still toying with the idea of doing a border on them or not. I got that cool tool from the Martha Event so I gave it a try, but I might do with out it. We shall see….

We went with a navy blue, teal blue, yellow combo! I might throw another color in their for good measure.Perhaps something in the orange family!
I’m also in charge of the centerpieces so we’ll see how that goes!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Although expensive, I love orchids!

I agree with Lavendar and Lillies, orchids are a lovely and sophisticated option for an older couple. Also, they can keep them or share with their children. Nice momento of the special day. How many people will attend? What is the budget for centerpieces? Is the affair in the day or at night? Votives always look gorgeous when grouped in large numbers (inexpenisve at Ikea)…I have lots of ideas!

what a lovely guest room! I am loving succulents lately for center pieces—but that's not quite the orange you're hoping for! I'm so excited to find your blog—I feel like I'm trying to get my foot in the design door too—degree in anthropology and NOW figure out what to do with my life…such is life right?? Just finished cropping all of the menus. Had a teeny snag when I found a typo and needed to re-print!
We are going to be having 65 guests and I think it will be 8 tables.
Trying to figure out what I'm going to put the flowers in. I was going to use my milk glass collection, but my mom is afraid people will walk out of them at the end of party. I don't think Jon would mind that, but I totally would.

It could be fun to do the turquoise paint inside some thrift store glass vases and fill them with different yellow flowers.
I really love this! My wedding colors were light blue and yellow, and it was so cheerful, I was really glad I went with it. My one bridesmaid wore brown satin, it all ended up matching perfectly!

With your color combination you probably can come up with some interesting ideas with paper.

LOVE those menus, very cute!
Centerpieces are so important. I would purchase inexpensive clear vases and with etching cream create a monogram in the center. Either etch the whole vase so the monogram is clear or etch the mnogram. Use mums and bright yellow gerberas to keep with the color scheme. Or etch your parents and use a different design on the others so someone at the table can take them home as a party favor.
how about candles with an unusual vase filler such as small multi colored chili peppers (depending on the theme)colorful glass chunks from the crafts store, pretty river rock etc. Tie a big bow around the bottom of the hurricane and you have a lovely centerpiece.

We did something similar at our family reunion but actually put the vellum on larger square glass vases and eliminated the frames altogether. They turned out beautifully and seem like an appropriate way to celebrate your parents' lives together.
And what did I just stumble upon but a fabulous yellow centerpiece made out of all things, yellow Jello! Sounds heinous but it's actually quite pretty.

Love the colors and the menus are adorable. What about just getting some simple glass vases from a craft store and wrapping them with either ribbon or pretty fabrics and filling them with flowers of your choice – great way to add some color!
