  2. McKenzie says:

Don't feel bad, I spent a good amount of time watching Cupcake Girls as well! Love those two.

  3. Hirondelle Rustique says:

What a funny picture! I had a DIY project that didn't happen also, I was trying to stain a headboard (a project I've been trying to finish for a year!) and it wasn't coming out dark enough so I just put a bunch of stain on it and didn't wipe it off thinking it was the perfect color, well it's the next day and it's still not dry! *sigh* Guess I'll have to put it off for another week. Such is life! Hope you have a great weekend!

  4. Kate Collins Interiors says:

I tried the same thing on a lamp shade and I also tore a hole in it. Oh well. It looks like you had a fun weekend and I love the lamp!

  5. Lauren says:

Love that you had a little work and a little relaxing. All that was missing is a glass of wine 🙂

Your husband is amazing to do all your projects with you. You are super fortunate!

  6. LindsB says:

I did the same exact thing when I was pulling apart my lampshade that is a twin to yours- now i need to find a new one 🙂

  7. Nicole-Lynn says:

haha cute pics! I love watching girly shows.. when I'm feeling the most stressed or need 'me' time they're the best 🙂

  8. J. Is A Bird says:

Hahaha! Very cute pics. I know the feeling though. I finally had to clear off my dining room table of unfinished DIY to make room for WORK!

The economy is cutting into my DIY. So many art supply stores cutting way back on their stock and leaving me with a few unfinished projects just waiting for me to find a large foil gold star sticker and a large rectangular shaped hole punch;)

    Cheers!
    J.

  9. KJZW says:

oh my goodness I spent Saturday in bed watching the exact same thing!

  10. Tamstyles says:

girl your man looks great with that shade! LOL…I need to get mine one..

  11. The Matters of Style Girls says:

    Love that lamp, awesome!

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]

new-farrow-and-ball-paint-color-picks-for-my-house

Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]

What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]

mock-up-of-kitchen-design

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
