Chic & Cheap: Duvets as Curtains

  1. {Arianna Belle} says:

This is a great idea! Especially for when you find a really great printed duvet cover on sale or at a store like HomeGoods, Ross, etc.!

  2. Nicole-Lynn says:

I always enjoy reading your home decor tips/advice. Thanks!

  3. Kate {domestikatedlife} says:

Awesome idea — I always scan homegoods for cheap sheet sets, I never use flat sheets on my bed so they're great for creating coordinating window treatments or pillows!

  4. High-Heeled Foot in the door says:

I never use my flat sheets, but always save them and end up using them in craft projects. 🙂

I love the idea of using the duvet's because the have a nice weight to them and will hang properly and not be totally see-through.

  5. Abby & Her Boys says:

    Wow. I love this!

  6. Mary says:

Another use for sheet sets is by using the flat sheet to make a shower curtain. A typical 54" home decor fabric for a shower curtain means panels need to be seamed together. A larger flat sheet would eliminate that.

  7. Jade @ Flip Flops + Pearls Design says:

Very cool and love the orange!

  8. High-Heeled Foot in the door says:

Oh Mary great idea! I'm having a shower curtain made and there will need to be a seam in it!

  9. Splendid Sass says:

Great idea! I make duvet covers with two sheets. I make sure I get one size higher if I can, otherwise it is close. I put buttons or velcro at the top.
    Have a nice evening.

  10. McKenzie says:

Smart idea!! I'll have to keep my eye out…

  11. autumn says:

  12. charm home says:

This is such a great idea. I've used this technique before to have them resewn into draperies but I've never thought about just hanging the king sized duvet without having it altered. Great inspiration. Have a great weekend! -c

  13. KSK says:

Thanks for the mention Camila 🙂

  14. Megan {Honey We're Home} says:

I totally copied Kyle's idea and got those same duvets for my guest room. I love the navy one you found too- had never been to that site before- thanks!

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
