We are having quite the raining/dreary weather in NY this morning. Totally makes me wish I had gone with a new macbook instead of a mac desktop so that I could work from bed today. 🙂
The weekend was full of celebrating!
First up was celebrating Danay’s 24th birthday!
We headed into the city early and had a yummy Cuban lunch at Salud in the Seaport.
When I was on the phone with Danay earlier in the day she told me she had to get off the phone and put on her tutu. I thought she was kidding, but nope she had on a tame tutu for lunch!
I loved the decor at Salud. It was filled with white and some pops of espresso and tan. I also love seeing bead board used in a non-cottage/country setting. Check it out on the ceiling and how fab is the wire cage lantern!
Cozy seating nook:
More bead board used under the espresso chair rail! Loved this. I was on a big espresso trim kick a couple of years ago and I think it is now sneaking it’s way back into my heart.
My dad thought it would be funny to faux serenade the birthday girl. Luckily the restaurant already had all the props he needed.
After lunch I caught up on my guilty pleasure (Keeping up with the Kardashians) at my sister’s apt while awaiting the start time of her b-day bash!
Here we are at the party! Totally mad that the flash messed up the image, but I had to show you all a peek of my favorite striped skirt from Anthro! I was also wearing hot pink heels with a bow.
We got in a bit late Friday night so Saturday morning was spent relaxing and then getting ready to go to a Fuzzin BBQ. Now you must be wondering what a fuzzin is? Well Jon’s dad is still friends with two of his fraternity brothers and they are now to us as Aunt/Uncle even though there is no blood relation. So all of their children decided that instead of calling each other fake cousins we would be fuzzins! Of course we needed to do a fuzzins shot. Slowly all the fuzzins are having kids so the get togethers just keep growing.
Sunday was another rainy/dreary day so we enjoyed it and watched a couple of movies in bed before heading out to party # 3 of the weekend. We had a wedding to attend at 4pm.
Jon did a lot of this:
He eventually danced himself over to the bride & groom:
ran around the track, ran to 2 soccer games, ran down to a block party, ran to the grocery and ran home to make dinner and then ran into bed!!! weekends are supposed to be not all about running ragged, right? pve

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
Tutu! Thanks again for the fabulous birthday!
Did you notice that they made the waiters coordinate their outfits with the white/beige decor at Salud?
Sounds like a great weekend. I love the decor at Salud. That was so sweet of your dad to serenade your sister!
My weekend consisted of FNO festivities – very fun!
Looks like you had a great time! Love the decor shots of Salud.
You've been all about the events lately! Good for you!!! Lovin' all your outfits!
What a fun weekend. A little bit of party, a little bit of rest. Of course anything in NYC sounds good to me! Thanks for sharing!
