Show & Tell: Chevron Closet

Filed Under: DIY, show and tell

Jan262011

I love seeing readers projects pop up in my in-box. I especially love it when one of my projects inspired them to do a project of their own.

For example Carmel of Our Fifth House recently send me her closet re-vamp.

Check out the before:

I must say my looks really similar and I don’t have an after…yet.

Her after:

Nice and neat. Love how organized it is and she even added a little sitting area. Now my favorite part and where I come into the equation.

Chevron Wall:

Carmel checked out the DIY library and found my No Paint stripes tutorial and used it to make her chevron wall:

Beautiful. Not only does it not damage the wall, but it’s a bit cheaper than using Japanese tape and takes less time than paint!

A big thanks to Carmel for sharing!

Do you have a project you want to show off? Email me at camila@effortless-style.com and let me know all about it.

Looks great! This could be done for so many other projects, like a wooden painted headboard or even plates? Decoupage them to make them last? Or put the tapes on a mirror for an unique look? So many possibilities!

I especially love the little pig with the “Feed Me” sign – so cute!!!

That’s adorable! LOVE the chevron pattern on the wall. It looks like my closet, too, almost exactly…and I, too, don’t have an after. (Bigger fish to fry before I tackle the closet.) I hadn’t thought about putting a mirror in there, though. Hmmm…it would definitely help make the closet seem bigger. Great idea!

    Question
Why can’t I do this and KEEP it this WAY!

Ugghh my Hubby doesn’t help when he throws his sneakers and such around the closet.

What if (What if) I send you some pics and you assist me in getting some organization or am I on my own!
    HELP……

Can you tell me the measurements of your closet. Mine looks similar and want to make sure they are similar in size to make sure I can do same updates to mine

I’m sorry, but this wasn’t my project. I would just measure your walls and then measure the width of the wallpaper you want to use to figure out how many rolls you are going to need.
