Customized Maskros Light

We have all seen the Maskros light by IKEA used in many rooms.

I have always seen them in their natural white state and was so surprised to spy it in a showroom all blinged out:

Amazing. So simply. I love to paint everything over, but never thought to paint this lighting piece. I love the look.

Anyone have one in their home that is painted the perfect hue?

    I contemplated it, but was afraid that the paint would make the flowers go limp. Maybe not now…..it does look wonderful in gold/bronze……..mind is spinning

    I am dying for one of these light fixtures but don’t live near an Ikea and this isn’t one of their shipped items…BOOHOO! It really is a fantastic piece!

    We have the smaller one in our breakfast nook and after Mr H+F installed the zillion little paper flowers I looked up and said “I bet that would look awesome painted a bright yellow. Like a big psychedelic sunburst”. He just looked at me and said “I’m not taking down all those pieces so unless you can paint it on the ceiling, it’s staying white”. …womp, womp… Next time 🙂

    these are so cool…love the gold. a yoga studio in my neighborhood has several lined up in the main studio. creates the coolest lighting effect.

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
