My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
LOVE the settee shown as well!! This seems like a great resource! There is always a less expensive version, if you know where to look. Janell
WOW! Thank you for sharing! May I share this on my blog, obviously linked to this post? I think my readers will really find it helpful- they love great style on a budget! I also tweeted about your post! xoxo shelli
Hi Shelli,
Thanks for tweeting about it. You can of course link to it as well.
🙂
Oh, there are going to be so many thank-you’s coming your way, Camila! Beautiful alternatives! Thanks for sharing!
SO glad you did! I’m off to convince my sweets that we need a new bed (or at least a new yellow settee)

What a fabulous tip- thanks for sharing- these are all lovely and I actually prefer the extra curves!!
That is a great source! I once attempted to make an upholstered headboard and it didn’t go so well for me. With this store I never have to worry about it again!
This is a great source…I’ve heard of them but wasn’t sure about the quality since the price is spectacular! Thanks for sharing!
Yet another reason your blog is a must-read for me! I’m about to move into my first apartment and the thought of starting from scratch (literally!) is overwhelming and quite expensive so I will definitely be checking this site out!
Wow, thanks so much for sharing! Have you tried any of their chairs? Or just the beds? I was wondering about the comfort level given the prices.
Kmart has a collete look alike as well!
I have the link saved at home on my mac ill send it on when i’m home later. I know nothing about quality or what not, but I think it may be a little cheaper?
Urban Home has one too..http://shopurbanhome.net/shoppingcart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=54_68&products_id=745
This is a great source I’m going to look through all their products now thanks!
Great find! I never would have thought to check Amazon for a bed:) They literally have everything and anything!
I love all the headboards you have shown. Thank you for sharing!
Skyline beds and headboards are even cheaper on CSNstores.com… I got a king nailhead headboard from there for <$300!
This is a great source, but what if you want to have it covered in your own fabric? Their web site along with Amazon gave no info as to what kinds of fabrics they use. Did they send you swatches?
J
That is quite a difference in price! Thanks for sharing.
You probably already know about this, but speaking of fabrics, Duralee has an outlet on LI. 1775 Fifth Avenue, Brentwood, N.Y. I actually haven’t been, but a friend was just there and said it’s fantastic.
Ah Christine! Had no idea! I must make a trip out there. My reps at the Duralee showroom have been holding out on me!
I am always looking for less expensive options for clients… this is a good one. Thanks!
Love these inexpensive options! Thanks for sharing!
THOUGHT YOU might like these.
Hi! Thanks for sharing about Skyline Furniture beds. I was wondering if yours were the “velvet” fabric they have on Amazon and how you felt about it? The prices are great but I’m nervous about how the fabric will look.
