My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Someone is selling a pair of the carved elephant end tables on craigslist here in Atlanta for $250 for the pair: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/fuo/2440108490.html. I have to admit, it’s not really my style, but if you want the look, it’s a good option!
I adore this table! It loks so 50’s and art deco! Very nice!
Nope, Never seen one of those before. I must admit, at first I thought you were joking, but as I scrolled through I began to see the light. Now I think I’m in love. Thanks for the lovely pics.
While elephants hanging off furniture is really not my thing — to each her own. We’re all different and I like the differences. If I see a piece like this, I’ll be sure to let you know.
Not my style but I do always think of you when I see it (as I did when I viewed Lonny this month) Couldn’t you find a couple of elephant corbels and add a glass or wooden top and attach it to the wall for a good enough look alike until you hit the lottery?
I think I scared all of you guys with my love for the elephant console. Don’t worry if you ever hire me to work on your home I want design elephants for everyroom. 🙂 I have never thought of elephant corbels. Going to see if I can find some. Thanks Diane!
Effortless, I just ran across your July 2011 post . I have an elephant console exactly like the ones you say you love so much, pictured on:. https://blog.effortless-style.com/2011/07/an-elephant-never-forgets/ .
As you know, they’re not that easy to find, especially at a “decent” price. The asking price for any I’ve seen online is between $3000 and $6,500. Apparently the value of them keeps going up. Since this is 2017, you may have already found one but if not, mine is for sale. I bought it new and have owned it since the early 70’s and It is in Corpus Christi, Tx. If you have any further interest, contact me and we’ll see what we can work out.
My friend Kristen JUST listed the desk version of this today for $495. She’s in Dallas, but can ship (I think). Go to Gypsy Soul Interiors on Facebook to see it– I think it’s RAD.
That is pretty sweet! Good luck finding it, it seems like something that wouldn’t be readily replicated but some of the commenters have some options!
I have collected elephants since I can remember and I LOVE this piece!! Good luck in your search! =)
I am the Kristen Dowd that Melissa referenced. I do have this console table for sale for $495!! I just listed it today. Let me know if you are interested. My website is under construction so the facebook page is “GypsySoulInteriors” if you are interested.
