Weekend Recap: Shower Prep
Hi Everyone,
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Ours was jam packed. As many of you know I’m helping plan my baby shower. Please no flaming on this. I wanted to be part of the process since in my family I’m always the party planner. It’s been a fun process and the last two weekends have been filled with baby shower prep. My main involvement has been with the invites and menus and I just had to share a little peek at the invite:

Since it was the weekend before the big day we spent the weekend with many family members over helping us clean up the inside and outside of our house. We felt badly putting everyone to work, but sometimes it takes a village. The house is looking sparkly clean and I can wait to share pictures after the party of Saturday.
* While the weekend was full of happy events like celebrating my little sisters 25th birthday & baby things it was also filled with an overwhelming sense of sadness. I can’t believe 10 years have come and gone. I know we all took a bit of time yesterday to remember those that were lost and honor those that are protecting us.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

Funny you say that, I’ve always said if I ever married or was expecting a baby, I would totally do my own decor. LOL.
Oh Miya you can’t imagine all of the harsh words I’ve had to take for wanting to be a part of it. Not fun, but I think now a days lots of mom to be’s help out with the shower.
