Seeing all of the pumpkins have reminded me of on of my favorite color combos: dark green and burnt orange.
One of my favorite rooms that showcase this particular color combo is this office designed by Scout Designs.
Here are some home decor accessories that you can add to your home and inject a bit of emerald and pumpkin to it:
1. While our Emerald City piece is mainly green it does have small peeks of orange all throughout the piece that add to it’s interest. It’s one of my favorites.
2. These beautiful chairs were part of a One Kings Lane tag sale and is no longer available, but the idea of it can still be used on any chair especially ones of the vintage variety. Put the spray paint on your next vintage find and simple recover them in a faux orange ostrich fabric and then top with green bolster pillow that can get a facelift with added orange greek key trim (item 6) .
3. Everyone needs a little bling in their life so during your next furniture revamp add a little sparkle instead of metal handles.
4. Yummy greek key pillows in our color story. So chic! Also a simple DIY project you can accomplish on your own if you pick up some ready made pillows and ribbon.
5. While these agate bookends are mainly our emerald green tone in the natural stone you see peeks of color and a little bit of orange peek through. Ebay is always my first go-to place for agate bookends for the best prices.
6. See item 2.
7.Lately everyone has been lusting after orange gourd lamps. I know I have as well. If you have in your home step it up a little bit and add an emerald green finial for a chic update that only costs $11 bucks!
Have you been inspired by all of the color combos in Halloween decor yet?
funny…i was just thinking today how the 2 colors i never decorate with are green and orange. your inspiration photos make them look so appealing i may have to change that!
Very “Hermes”. I saw a room that had an amazing desk-bleached grey wood with malachite insets and then you opened the drawers, the edges were that bright Hermes orange. Beautiful!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
I love orange and I love green…our living room is green and orange, but the colours aren’t as saturated as these greens and oranges…

Orange and green together have a fresh look about them.
I adore your pumpkin.
Still love that pumpkin! I copied it last year and everyone thought it was great. Now I’m trying to figure out how to top it this year.
That was DYNAMITE!!! franki
