weekend recap

Weekend Recap: Back at work

  1. Awww so sweet! The project and the baby. My little one slept through his first trip to HD as well but it was so much fun to commemorate it with a picture. Luckily he was awake for his first Homegoods visit as we would not want him to miss that!

  2. Sara says:

He is SOOOOOO cute! Please do not stop the baby photo posts. Maybe mix them in, but please keep them coming.

  3. Looks great! I saw the sale too, have you ever used the Martha Stewart line? I’m wondering if the paint is comparable to other brands?

    • Kellie says:

We have used the MS paint. I believe the person at HD said the Glidden person also stocked the MS paint. 😉

    • effortless says:

Sadly I’m not a huge fan of it. Honestly though I’ve only used it once, but when I used it I found it a bit watery, which made good coverage hard. After that one situation I never used it again, but I have heard from others that they enjoy it. I love the colors so I always just get the colors made in Behr.

  4. Kellie says:

Thanks for posting about the Martha Stewart paint. Is it being discontinued?

I see your little guy belongs to the one sock club. I’m a mom of three boys and keeping those socks on in the beginning is kind of tricky. He’s a cutie!

    • effortless says:

Not sure if it’s being discontinued, but it would look like it. The paint swatch area was completely empty. If you love there colors I would go grab them that way you could always get the colors color matched in another brand.

  5. laxsupermom says:

So adorable! I have a few paint projects coming up. I’ll have to grab some of the MS paint. Thanks for sharing.

  6. LindsB says:

I love that idea for a playroom- polka dots are so much fun!!

  7. Melissa says:

I love this idea for a playroom! Can I ask–what did you use for a cabinet top? Does Ikea sell a piece that fits in there, or did you have to get something made?

  8. Katrina says:

ahh he’s so cute!! I saw the MSL sale at home depot too – ours had the samples only on 1/2 off so I bought a few 🙂

  9. Sarah Gardner says:

    Hi Camilla-

Love the idea. Just wanted to give you a heads up on something though. I took and take my little guy with me everywhere, and it is so easy when they are that little. But please, please please do not set Hudson in his car seat and put the car seat on the basket. Please put him in the main part of the basket. It is harder to get all you need in the cart, but my husband is a Paramedic and at least twice a year he goes on a call where the cart hits a bump, and the baby goes tumbling out. The results have been devastating. I can’t tell from the picture if you are doing this, but if you are please let your little man cruise in the cart. Love him lots, because they get too big too quick .

    Sarah

    • effortless says:

Thanks for the heads up Sarah! I have never been in love with the idea of putting him in there and now you have me convinced to never do it. When we go out on I’m always with someone else so I always handle Hudson in his city mini stroller and Jon or whoever else is with me handles the cart. So don’t worry the little guy was in his stroller.

      xo,

      C

  10. He’s so beautiful! The first HD trip is quite the event. My daughter always looks around like she’s on another planet.

  11. Camilla– Oh, he is SOOOO adorable! What a handsome guy!

You must be on Cloud 9!

    Loretta

  12. Rina says:

    What a cutie!

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
