Thrifty Friday Finds

  1. I scored a great set of Norwalk (great furniture although unfortunately no longer in business) club chairs for $30 at my local Goodwill store last week. I am having them professionally upholstered in a soft cream-colored fabric for my renovated basement. What a deal – Goodwill is a great thrifting destination!

  2. I lucked out with a child’s rocker at Good Will and my little dude loves it. There’s nothing a little wood putty and spray paint can’t fix. 🙂

What thrift stores? I’ve been looking for a good one on LI!

  4. I love your finds — so much fun! Thanks for sharing, and feel better!

  5. Sandi says:

Love your thrift store finds. I’ve been doing some “thrifting” myself. Check out tomorrow (Saturday’s) post on chairs that I found for 8.95 each

  6. I love seeing what other people buy when they’re out thrifting. It gives me something to focus on next time I’m there and my eyes are darting in 100 different directions. Great finds!

  7. Carla says:

There’s just something about a little one that brings out the thrifting! Favorite thing to do. That chair is a terrific find! My 2-year-old Annie has a very similar rocker. She loves to sit in it in the window and read her little books.

  8. I left a purse (quite big) at Target. It was a faux snakeskin one that I wanted to carry my lunch, small purse, and magazines to work daily. One day at the goodwill I came across same purse. for $4 with Target’s tags still on it. SCORE!

  9. Lori says:

Great finds! I love that lampshade; I am on the lookout for two oversized lamshades for some thrifted lamps that I have. I also love that yellow vase; what a great pop of color!

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
