I have to let you guys in on a little secret. Along with running the blog and working with design clients I recently ventured into a new territory…blogger relations. You see I’ve been blogging for almost 5 years now and totally feel like part of a grandma crew in the blog world. In blogging for so long I’ve gained many friendships from all over the world and have learned a lot about what bloggers like/dislike and have also learned the in’s and out’s of how businesses should interact with bloggers.
A couple of months ago I was contacted by Karin from Crane & Canopy. Karin is the co-founder of Crane & Canopy (Her new hubby is the other co-founder) and she had emailed me to let me know about her bedding company, because she knew I was a fan of quality products at a great price.
You all know I love a deal and feel that everyone deserves to have a stylish home that looks like a million bucks. Well I was smitten with Crane & Canopy from their concept to their products. Additionally I was also quite smitten with Karin and we became pals.
When I love something I literally become a one person marketing machine and want to let everyone in on my favorite thing. I’ve already shared my love of Crane & Canopy with you all here, here and here. If I could go around and help make everyone’s bed with Crane & Canopy bedding I totally would. With my new role as their blogger relations dept I get to do just that by working with my fellow bloggers and helping them learn about Crane & Canopy, work with them on product round ups and even collaborate with them bedding makeovers and special blog features.

I’m in heaven. You see I actually graduated college with a degree in communications that specialized in mass media and public relations so in taking on this new role I’m actually doing a bit of what I went to school for and a bit of what I love and do now in interior design.

For my first blog feature special I reached out to a bunch of our favorite bloggers that are either newly engaged or newlyweds and asked them some fun bedding related questions that we will all get to learn about next week.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
this is such a happy collaboration — they have beautiful things. i got married a couple weeks ago, and just yesterday i posted about big love in a tiny apartment: http://apartmentwife.wordpress.com/2013/07/10/big-love-in-a-tiny-apartment/ — enjoy the read 🙂
Love, love, love their duvet covers and scalloped sheets! I just wish they offered them in a twin. I’m decorating a nursery that will have a twin bed and would love to use their bedding!!
Don’t forgot us seasoned married folk – we need new bedding too! I recently bought a new duvet cover from West Elm and realized our pillow cases and bed sheets need to be replaced too. You get all the new stuff when you get married but I think every couple should have an anniversary shower every 10 years to refresh the “supplies”!
We ARE the blogger grandmas. I actually chatted via comments with Freckles Chick about this recently. I feel like while I took a break and was in wedding blogging land, this whole new world of super monetized blogs with media kits and sponsorship deals exploded.
I’m proud of those of us who are still active and doing our thing. Too many of my old favorites have gone away.
Congratulation on the new gig! That bedding is beautiful. 🙂
That is awesome, Camilla! What a super great collaboration and role for you. I can’t wait to check out Crane & Canopy!
