Hi All,
Ah the weekend has come and gone yet again. We decided to take a little break from projects and work this weekend and just have some fun!
On Saturday we were invited out east by my sister’s boyfriends family and we had a packed day. We got out east I little early so we used the extra time we had to drive onto the beach, which is always a fun time.
We then headed to the house and while we waited for lunch to be served we walked over to check out the pretty view:
{The walked turned ugly though when Hudson decided he walked to walk down all of the stairs to the beach. Oh course Jon decided to match him with his angry face too.}
Hudson won and here are my two little men on the sand:
After our yummy lunch we headed out to Martha Clara Vineyard where along with wine tasting for all of the adults they had a little animal farm set up that Hudson loved!
The also had sunflower fields that we took advantage of for some family shots:
{Jon & Hudson missed this one, because they were still feeding the animals.}
Then a shot of my little family:
{Yes! A shot were we are all actually looking at the camera and smiling!}
After the vineyard we headed to some local thrift stores where I spied a couple of treasures.
Loved this media console for only $75:
I also found a new to me consignment/thrift combo shop that had a ton of goodies, but they were sadly closing for the day when I arrived. I did manage to spy this beauty:
I managed to come home with this stunning ginger jar for only $12!
Plus this sweet little Jonathan Adler vase for only .99 cents:
{Love the little Hudson fingerprints on my jewelry box 🙂 }
We even managed to squeeze a dip in the pool before dinner and then headed back home late in the evening. What a full day.
On Sunday morning we were wiped, but since we had family get togethers with both sides of our family in the afternoon we decided to stay in bed and introduce Hudson to Free Willy (We were able to watch 1 & 2 all before 11 am. Perks of waking up at 7 am.) and acted a bit silly:
{Hudson loves tickling people’s feet or even trying to bite their toes (Eew!) but, this morning he got to play foot phone with Jon’s foot!}
I wanted to enjoy both family get togethers so, my phone stayed in my purse so sadly I have no pictures, but fun was had by all.
I got to end the evening on a sweet note enjoying some yummy See’s candies that my lovely In-laws bought home for us:
{ I can’t control myself with See’s. I’m going to have to have Jon hide them from me}
Along with reading up on the latest design book, How to Decorate by Shannon Fricke:
{It goes on sale Aug 27th, but can be pre-ordered here.}
P.S. If you missed this past Friday’s postI showcased the latest goodie available through Elephant’s Trunk:
The beautiful frog enamel bracelet is only $30 shipped! I only have two left so if you would love one then just email me at camila@effortless-style.com
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Hudson seriously melts my heart. The cutest. Glad you got some time to rest!
That looks like cape cod! That isn’t corn hill beach, is it?
We were actually out east on Long Island on the North Fork.
That media console… I die. I can’t believe it was only $75?!!!
I too was at Martha Clara’s this past weekend….first time at the vineyards! Girl’s weekend trip! We hit 14 of them over 3 days!
Oh fun! Hope you had a blast! I wonder if we were there at the same time!
