HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

From yesterday’s post on a DIY grasscloth console I thought it would be fun to share with you how to style a console. I think a lot of times people either put nothing or put way too many things and it’s not functional. Here is what I recommend: Tip 1: Start with a fresh slate. […]

How To Style A Console

A long time ago I had Jon build me a Parson style console for our living room. Everything on the market was a bit too skinny for my liking so we had to go the DIY route. A quick trip to Home Depot for some 2’x4′ and my amazing husband came up with this: We […]

Friday Finds…

I have a new obsession and I need to share it with you all. I think like most people out there I’ve used Amazon to purchase random things throughout the years and typically use it for all of my kindle books. The other day though I was made aware that they have a section called […]

My new habit is checking My Habit

{Milton Glaser poster} As a NY based blogger it’s hard to forget about Sept 11th. I originally had an interior design post scheduled for today, but the more I thought about it the more I realized I didn’t want to post it. So many people lost their lives and the heartbreak was felt worldwide. I […]

I love NY more than ever…

Hudson use to only drink water and milk, but during the summer he has been introduced to other drinks like sweet teas and Arnold Palmers (his dad and mom’s favorites) and now plain old water doesn’t seem to be cutting it anymore. So, this weekend I decided to test out the new flavored waters from […]

Effortless Fruity Water

Hi All, Hope you all had a great weekend! We had fun, but I must admit it just flew by and as I type this Sunday night I’m already afraid that I will be hit with quite a case of the Monday’s. Here is a little peek into what we were up. We popped into […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
