I love a good monogram so when I was thinking up ideas for holiday diy gift projects I decided to go big!
Here is what you’ll need for this project:
SUPPLIES:
FELT
PAINTERS TAPE
RULER
SHARPIE -SHADE SIMILAR TO FELT COLOR CHOICE
FABRIC GLUE
PILLOW CASE – Actually found these at the dollar tree!
STEP 1: In order to make things less complicated we decided to go with a block font for our monogram. I kept all of the wrinkles in order for the lines to help me figure out sizing. We decided to go with a height of 10″ that fell in between the fold lines.
STEP 2: Now for the letters there isn’t an exact science. Just remember that you need to do the letters backwards so that when you cut them out you don’t see the sharpie marks. For the measurements it’s easiest if you use the width of your ruler for the width of the letters and once you figure out what height you would like to us (We picked 10″) it just takes a little eye balling to figure out how to make your letter, which is why using painters tape is helpful in getting a realistic image of the finished letter.
STEP 3: Once you have all your measurements done cut out your letters. Felt has pros and cons. It’s great because you have no frayed seams and it has a nice weight to it. It’s main con is that it can be difficult to cut. Make sure you have a sharp pair of scissors to get a clean cut.
STEP 4: Lay out your finished letters to make sure they fall within the height you wanted and figure out spacing. The nice part about felt is that it can be pulled a bit if you cut a letter a little too short.
STEP 5: Use fabric glue to glue letters to place.
STEP 6: Iron down letters to help spread out the glue a bit and set it.
STEP 7: Add your pillow and enjoy your finished product!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
This is a clever idea. I wish you would tell us more about your bedroom. That wallpaper looks amazing.
