A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by Zevia and asked to participate in a their Flavors of Summer pinterest contest. Little did they know that I had recently cut soda out of my diet, because I didn’t like the idea of all of those artificial sweeteners. Upon reading more of the details behind Zevia I was happy to find that it was sweetened with stevia, had no caffeine, no fat, no sodium and no calories. All wins in my book so I happily signed up!
I was given my pick of flavors and I went with lemon lime twist. Not only do I love both lemon and lime, but I love a good dose of color especially cheerful ones like a bold yellow and green.
To showcase my featured flavor I decided to make up a little beverage station that anyone could tackle in their home during a party.
Since I’m currently 8 months pregnant I made up a cocktail with my drink that I couldn’t taste test, but others told me was delish! When I think summer I think white sangria so with a couple of ingredients I was able to mix one up in minutes.
Here is what you’ll need to make Pucker Up Sangria:
-1 bottle of white wine. I went with a Pinot Grigro.
-3 cans of Zevia Lemon Lime Twist.
-1 cup of orange juice
-1/2 cup of lemonade
-cut up granny smith apples
-cut up lemon slices
I also made a little cut up fruit station with raspberries, green grapes and mangoes that guests could add to their sangria glasses equipped with polka dot straws.
For those that preferred a mock tail I went a bit of different route and decided on lemon lime twist popsicles! I haven’t made popsicles in years, but it was fun and easy. I think it will become a new summer time tradition.
I picked up some molds at my local dollar tree and then filled them three fourths of the way with lemon lime twist and topped the rest off with low calorie lemonade. Make sure you mix them up and then add some lime and lemon slices for color and you ready to pop them in the freezer. They were really refreshing and came in at less than 40 calories!
To make them look a bit more grown up I added them to stemless wine glasses (another dollar store find) and added ice cubes to make them stay cooler in the warm weather.
I then took the extra popsicles and placed them in a large square vase I had filled with ice cubes for additional guests to pick up one or two.
Lastly some people just like a good old fashioned soda pop so, I made sure to have a set up with cans upon cans of Zevia lemon lime twist and extra lemons and limes that could be cut up and added as garnish to your drink.
In my book no tablescape is complete without some florals. Going with the theme I made sure to use lots of lemons and limes in my presentation and then used two stacked glass trifle bowls with stands to get the height I needed. Very little flowers were needed to fill the top bowl, but it still makes a pretty display.
Here is a look at the whole set up:
An old DIY striped curtain project came back into play as my tablecloth and textured round green placemats from the Dollar Tree helped me make a sweet little bunch of faux limes in the corner.
Cheers to a happy and bubbly summer!
Along with showcasing my tablescape and recipes as part of participating in Zevia’s Flavors of Summer campaign is a Pinterest contest where readers can pin their favorite set up and are entered to win a $500 gift card ! It could be mine or one of the other bloggers featured. Head here for more details. The contest is open from May 7, 2014 at 12 am PST thru May 16, 2014, 12 pm PST.
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]

Love your drink and party set up!!! so so cute…and those Popsicles look amazing!!
what a great idea to serve the popsicles that way. I live in arizona and have always thought a popsicle party would be nice but didn’t know how to serve them without them melting immediately!
Great spread- well styled!
