Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. We had one jam packed day and then a day to rest! Always a nice mix to the weekend.
On Saturday we woke up bright early to prep for a photo shoot we were working on. Here is a peek into our supplies:
We will be revealing the photo shoot on Wednesday! Stay tuned!
Truth be told setting and doing the actual photo shoot took a big chunk of the day.
The nice part about shopping for photo shoot supplies was picking up a couple of extra goodies for myself. My favorite from last weeks haul was this tablecloth!
Also found these cute kraft paper rolls with patterns at Dollar Tree:
We wrapped up our day with a Cinco de Mayo themed surprise birthday party for Hudson’s Aunt JoJo! She was surprised and Hudson was the life of the party and behaved himself really well even though it was a late night for him.
We were all hoping to sleep in on Sunday, but you know how it is with kids. We were up bright and early at 7am ready to get the day started.
We started the day by checking out rattan samples that arrived from Select Furnishingsto see what color combo we want for our outdoor living room set. We are toying between chocolate and natural.
We are working with this toss pillow as our inspiration point for the color story going on in the outdoor living area:
Before settling in for a day of relaxation we remembered we had a Mother’s day gift to pick out so out we went to my favorite place…Kate Spade. Such a happy and colorful store!
Since we were in a shopping center with the closest Christmas Tree Shopto us we decided to take a little peek. We managed to find a couple of little treasures:
Cute ceramic stools for $69.99
Missoni inspired lampshades for $14.99
Patterned rugs for $5.99
How cute is this mini ceramic garden stool? It had to come home with me!
Of course after all of the shopping we had to take the rest of the day to rest. We all did a little napping in the afternoon, then the men did a yard work in the backyard to prepare the space for Hudson’s new playset, which should arrive this week!
The day ended with us cuddling and watching some movies:

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
I know what you’re up to with the photo shoot!! Can’t wait to see what you’ve created! And can’t believe you didn’t choose orange!!?? 😉
