Can’t believe another weekend has come and gone. I just want to hit pause some weekends (ok most weekends) and extend them a bit, because it’s so great having Jon home 24/7.
This Saturday we started to potty train Hudson! Since it was a nice day out we decided to hang out in the backyard bottom less. Don’t worry Hudson was the only one going without pants. He loved being naked, but didn’t quite get the idea of running to the potty.
We hung out in the pool for most of the day.
By the end of the day we were all wiped and this was the view from my bedside.
Cute, right? 😉 I fell asleep shortly after and we were all out by 10pm.
On Sunday we got to celebrate with our dads! I had a couple of little surprises up my sleeves for Jon. The day started out with matching shirts for all of my guys.
Jon loves fishing so I ordered custom fishing t-shirts from Ink Pixi. Here is Hudson rocking his shirt.
Jon got a matching shirt and hat and little Ash got a onesie. Jon loved it! The other part of his gift was a new grill for the backyard. Jon was super excited. What man doesn’t love a grill and I loved the mocha color I picked out for the space.
We headed out early that morning to pick out some meat for the lunch we were hosting that day.
Here is Jon at the grill enjoying his gift.
Along with the meat I made a really easy veggie side. Cut up zucchini and peppers on skewers with a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette and olive oil was all that was needed.
Oh course no get together is complete without desserts. My sister bought over some amazing treats.
Cookies and brownies:
Plus a nutella pie:
Totally random, but how cute is the dress my sister was wearing? Perfect for a BBQ.
Overall it was a great day to hang out with family especially all of the dads. Yummy food and peeks at the TV to check out the World Cup games was a perfect end to the weekend. Have you been watching the World Cup? My dad has always been a huge soccer fan so I have been catching some of the games. After reading this articleI’m certain some of you will start to watch too.
{ Cute little Hudson was wiped from all full day of playing and passed out at 5pm so he didn’t make it into this pic.}

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
