Christmas was a lovely time and everyone was so generous with the boys. It was great and the boys loved getting all new toys, but I was left with an excess of toys and no idea how to handle the storage. We went thru all of the toys and set aside toys that were broken for the trash, gently used for donations and then baby toys that we wanted to save for perhaps a brother or sister for the boys, but that’s not happening yet.
We were so happy when we had bags full of toys that were on their way out, but then we looked around and realized we were still left with a good amount of toys without a home. In the beginning of the new year I trip to Target for milk and cereal ended up with a new storage system for the toys!
So we went from having our floor look like this:
To this:
So easy to install and super slim so it doesn’t take up a lot of space, but it still stores quite a bit of toys.
We were also left with a nice tabletop to use for storage so I utilized it for book storage.
My favorite part of this system is the bin labels. I like for everything to have a home and this way we know what goes in each bin every time we play. Plus it’s helping Hudson recognize his letters.
The best part is that they just clip on to the bin!
My favorite part of the day is now clean up time. Even the little one gets in on the action and he knows where everything goes!
Are you going batty with toy storage issues as well? My budget finds were all from Target. The 9 cube storage system is $79.99, the storage bins come in a million colors and are only $5.99, and the metal bin labels are $5.99 for a set of 3!
Looks great! I feel like toys take over all areas of my house all day long. I need to implement a few more toy storage options in our family room to keep myself sane.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
So motivating!! My New Year’s goal is to organize…the main culprit is the toys. That looks great!
